That's why I was confused; over here, we just call it a belt sander.....

Well see, that's where it gets confusing; to us, the poms & anyone else who doesn't live in bizarro world (ie: the USA) this

is a belt sander; a hand held machine, whereas, this

is a linisher...

They have to be more careful over there....or guys would remove too much material off what holds their pants up........:stir::stir::2guns::cheers2:

Wow, you're in a mood tonight, aren't you, Doug... :lolgoku:

Well....the cool thing is. ...I never heard of a linisher before tonight. ..and any day you can walk away from a little bit smarter. ... (or more knowledgeable)....is a good one.....It's not a bad designation for that machine. ...a "straight line"....."finisher"....ergo..linisher...or maybe there are different language roots of which I am not aware.....

WHAT.....WAIT!!!!!........I'm always in a mood.......

Over here the small one is just a portable /hand held belt sander. The second one is a bench mounted combination belt/disk sander. No special translation needed.

Why do you insist on winding him up? :stir: :devil2: :roflol:

When I pulled into my driveway yesterday ,after work, my truck was making a very quiet but funny sound...... Didn't put much thought into it.....
This morning before work, my wife tells me my son needs diapers....:censored:. Closest store opens at 7... I go to work at 5:45.... Ok so I tell my boss I'm gonna be late. I wait in store parking lot till they open. They don't have his size, and I have to go to the 24hr cvs that I was trying to avoid. On the way home, I hear "that" noise again..... And my transmission starts jerking and acting up...... I put it in "limp" mode and putt putted it the rest of the way home. Call my boss and tell him, ok now I need a ride too..... :lolgoku:
He picks me up, and on the way, I smoked a cigarette. Had a new pack in my right hand, and the cig in my left. Finish the cig, and lost in conversation, I fling the pack out the widow, instead of the cigarette.......... (I know I know, flinging the cigarette is just as bad......) .........
Let's see what else this day will bring.... I'm ready though.... Got a 12 pk of DrPepper and a new pack of smokes.......

Sorry to hear about the tranny; that's one of the biggest issues with the modern computer controlled ones. The computer compensates for routine wear and tear to the point that when you start to notice an issue, it's got big issues instead of something minor.

:funnypost:  As for the smokes, that was the funniest thing I've heard yet today. The city of Grand Rapids (where my employer is located) passed a city ordinance banning smoking indoors in public places and places of work.

It had major backing from ~ 90% of the business's that it covers, many of which had smoking bans in place already. Which makes the fact that 3/5 of the work force where I'm funny as h#!!. (If you haven't guessed, I'm a rabid non smoker). It's made life way easier for me, due to having bad lungs from birth...

We've got a citywide smoking ban here, and a lot of the bars and restaurants opposed it, but then found that business went up afterward.

There is a golf cart drag race happening in a few days, with a couple go kart classes. I wanted to swap in a new cam and tires for the race, but the tires I ordered off ebay ended up being the wrong size, and the cam I picked out won't be able to show up in time. So I'm just going to have to run with a mild built motor and nearly bald tires.

the good… the past few weeks I have been replumbing my other house since it was all stolen. I have a leak in the upstairs bathroom, possibly due to the water hasn't been on in a year and a half, so it likely froze and split somewhere. Hopefully it's just a solder joint that needs repaired. Installed a new bathroom sink and faucet, new kitchen faucet, fixed the toilet leak, and my roommate has been over there cleaning almost daily. I'm making a big push to get this house back in shape and rented out since my brother, who is a co-owner, has pretty much abandoned it.
