:funnypost:  As for the smokes, that was the funniest thing I've heard yet today.

:iagree: It sucks but, it's still funny... sorry Jim...

Federal law over here states, in simple terms, if you're not in your home & there's a roof over your head, it's illegal to smoke... That includes your car if there are children in it...

Meanwhile, I'm having withdrawls, I haven't set foot in my garage for almost a week :worried2:

When I pulled into my driveway yesterday ,after work, my truck was making a very quiet but funny sound...... Didn't put much thought into it.....
This morning before work, my wife tells me my son needs diapers....:censored:. Closest store opens at 7... I go to work at 5:45.... Ok so I tell my boss I'm gonna be late. I wait in store parking lot till they open. They don't have his size, and I have to go to the 24hr cvs that I was trying to avoid. On the way home, I hear "that" noise again..... And my transmission starts jerking and acting up...... I put it in "limp" mode and putt putted it the rest of the way home. Call my boss and tell him, ok now I need a ride too..... :lolgoku:
He picks me up, and on the way, I smoked a cigarette. Had a new pack in my right hand, and the cig in my left. Finish the cig, and lost in conversation, I fling the pack out the widow, instead of the cigarette.......... (I know I know, flinging the cigarette is just as bad......) .........
Let's see what else this day will bring.... I'm ready though.... Got a 12 pk of DrPepper and a new pack of smokes.......

I had a real bad "pack out the window" experience in high school. Met the cutest girl I'd ever laid eyes upon. Man, she was hot! And in an amazing twist of fate, she actually gave me her phone number... Awesome! I scribbled it inside the top flap of my cigarette pack. So very pleased with myself, I went about my day. Hours later, I was zipping along the main drag in town on my way home. Grabbed my last cigarette out of the pack, and smiling- put it to my lips. I pressed the lighter button in my car, and lobbed the empty pack out the window as I upshifted and awaited the telltale "click" to indicate that my satisfaction was only moments away. Oh- I heard a "click" alright. It was the one and only functioning synapse in my hormonal teenage brain, telling me that I had just carelessly disposed of old what's-her-face's phone number!!!

Oh, FIDDLE!!! (Okay- you got me. That's NOT what I said)

At the next intersection, I whipped the car around in a stellar U-turn that probably looked better in my mind than to the casual observer- and proceeded to spend the next 2 hours at the side of the road trying to figure out just how on this green earth, a large black and purple cigarette pack can simply vapourize in maybe 5 minutes flat. As a result, I a)never saw that beautiful girl again, and b)never threw anything out my car window again. Stoopid!

Regarding the laws: Shortly, I believe it will be as such- you can only smoke in your room, in your house, with the blinds drawn, the lights off, hiding under the covers...

OK.....The Anti-smoking Nazis are bad enough. ....First off. ...second hand smoke is 99% BS.......It's like saying.....I can smell your car exhaust. ....it's going to give me Cancer.....but the car owner has been sucking on that exhaust pipe for 5 minutes 40 times a day for 40 years.....and is Cancer free.... (Thing about it. ...)

Ok.....But NOW!!!!!!!! They are banning E-cigs!!!!!! WTF????.. . That is just dicktatershet in action......

The neighborhood where the company I now work for has seen better days, but is now working on getting back from the worst.... Back in the day when they sold smoke's in the vending machines, the working "Ladies" would walk the one block west to our street to buy their smokes because it was closer than the nearest store.

That was like over 15 years ago ( and I've only worked here for around 10 months), and third shift still has to shoo away the occasionall stray that comes looking for the cig machine........

My day

Started good
My sister got a newish car and we picked up from the show today

A 2010 toyota all wheel drive rav 4
22k
Which is a pretty average price here

But when we got home I was looking at her old car
A 2003 hyundi elantra
Going to be a second cheaper car for me for a few months
Cheaer than a toyota turbo desisel landcruiser that gets 20 lt to the 100
Thinking I could improve it a bit
Ended up painting a **** load of little things

Tried to make the spotlights
Turns out the previous owner ran the whole circuit useing twist and tape

To get a high beam signal he just shoved a wire into the plug and hoped for the best

So it turned from a give it a wash to strip most of the trim off and try to solder or rerun a whole new spotlight citcuit
In the dark getting very pissed at the PO
For being a dodgy peice of crap

Also turns out the tie rod and upper coilover mount is the only thing holding the frond wheels on

Both wish bone rubbers are gone both sides

Well my next door neighbor came over and gave me the news. ....A mutual friend of ours died last night at 8:30....They knew each other from grade school and are 10 years younger than me. ......

Billy had throat Cancer...and like me....refused a stomach tube.....It got very rough without it and I can totally understand what happened. .....we were both pretty stout guys in our day.....and by that I mean tough....

I had to stop treatment for a week....and go get a couple of IV's.....just to stay alive ....as I couldn't even drink water. ...but I made it. ....Billy just couldn't handle it. ...but he was so weak and sick....that he decided to get the tube.....despite the doctor's warning. ....it was his decision. ...and he requested the surgery. ....he did not survive it.......

Strange. ...I was about the same age when I was diagnosed. ....but I got 10 more years.... (and counting).......See....only the good die young....mean old farts just hang around forever.......

:iagree: you're a mean old fart....LoL

Sorry for your loss, Doug. Stuff like that really makes you sit and think......

Awww....I'm not mean....remember. ...we're just kittycats....right? ?????

But you know I seem to be a lucky kittycat.....as several larger fellers ain't faired too well....and I managed without a scratch. .....jest sayin'.....in my youth. ....it wasn't uncommon to fight 4 or 5 at once.....

But. ....not I just go the easy rout.....:2guns: cover up the POS in the litter box. ....problem solved.....too bad my buddy....moved back to Texas....I could probably find him some light work in California right now......

Well my neighbor flagged me down to show me Billy's online memorial.....And of course really just to talk.....they were friends since grade school.....I was friends with Billy too....but not that close......

So my neighbor is taking it pretty hard. ......Actually my neighbor is a pretty close friend......anyway. ...he has a bunch of computers....cables....and lord knows what else that he was keeping for Billy......and he wants me to have them.....so I need to pick them up. ...... (he doesn't want them around as reminders)......I kinda know....I lost 2 really good friends back in high school. ...one was murdered....and the other....a possibly accidental death......that hit me pretty hard. ......

Billy was 50.....a few years older than I tought.....but very close to the timeline. ..relating to me as far as age of diagnosis. ......

He was diagnosed in November last year. ....I was diagnosed in October 2003.....

Sorry to hear that, i hate hearing stories about that...

In other news....

Last weekend i took the cab, and bed off my '71 f-100

Never taking a cab off with two people again. Im not a big guy, but my dad is, and he had a hard time...

We used the engine hoist, picked it up with straps on the floor only to have the cab wanting to fall over...

rolling the hoist on a gravel driveway was awesome too... UGH!

Bed was way easier, lighter. stuck the cab in my garage and examined the rust.

Im looking at floor pans and front cab mounts, witch i already knew.

Looking at truck parts seems expensive but i seem to keep selling and finding opportunity to make money...

Shipped a lawn mower axle to MI and made $55.

Sold a amber rotating light on ebay and made $85.

==============================

Summer seems kinda boring, because i can only work on the truck so much.

But staying up till 2am is fine with me, like im doing now.

School starts in the first week of septemeber, like 5-7th i imagine

going to be a senior so not much to worry about. Already know what i want to do after high school

Got my full licence. So thats that.

===============================

I just wish my truck was done so i could cruise the roads and roast some tires...

or cruising sounds less expensive. lol

spent all day looking for a small 125cc engine...

200 dollars, and it doesn't even run?!

gosh Florida.. you and your local prices.

----------------------------

I have some tool money stashed away, gonna buy a torque wrench Monday, I think. Mostly for motorcycle working and gokart wrenching.. I'm thinking about getting a 3/8th.. I'm never using anything past 22mm anyway. RARELY, unless its axles or something.

but idk what brand to go with?

the Craftsman, or the Eastwood..?

I prefer brick and mortar stores when it comes to tools that might need replacing. I also noted that Eastwood didn't even list a price......

If I were to choose between the two, especially as the Craftsman was only $38 or so bucks, Sears gets the nod.... Especially since you most likely will never wear it out. Just stock up on what ever batteries it needs.....

My buddy here is only wrong on one count, by his post. The ad shows the Eastwood is on sale for $89....
Other than that, he hit it square on the head. I totally agree with his post.....:thumbsup::cheers2:

You do know you can get a new 125. For $265 to your door right? Brand new with all the stuff to make it run, minus an exhaust..... Ebay...
