Sure, I will explain it the best I can in my fine de luxe crown induced state.Um...for the class, could ya explain the difference between a voltage divider & a Buck convertor?
A voltage divider is like sticking a fork in a toaster. For it to operate, power is applied to the
heating element wire (resistors) , at both ends. For it to operate, power will always be wasted by heat.
regardless of any load present or not. When the toaster is powered up, and a fork stuck in the middle,
you become the center tap, and the voltage will be divided in half. That is a voltage divider.
A switch mode converter uses fancy witchcraft and transistor technology to
turn on and off the power quick enough to regulate it without wasting all that power.
Duty cycle/ on time = power.
That ebay job should do, hope this explanation is adequate.
