The primer & takin' 'er out in the sunshine "exposed" so many more flaws :furious2::mad2::censored:
...how the :censored: did I "still" miss, so much stuff

Their just some small spots & a bunch of pin holes :ack2:
...but, :huh::furious2:

Well, I've come "this far" :auto:
...so, yup we gotta add a little "freckle cream" :smartass:

Quit grousing about the continuity of various steps, that step was always required. You did know that, right? Every customizing car show I've seen that had them working some fiberglass got the "broad-brush" treatment of body putty before final sanding. Not a lot of little spots like yours, but the big smears that cover just about everything, no spaces between spots.

The digital GPS speedometer (~$23.00) that I ordered, came in today :drool5:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/255077696088

Specifications:
Model: C60S
Screen size: 3.0 inch
Product material: ABS+PC
Input voltage: DC 5V
Working temperature: -30~80°C
Input current: 50~120mA, can be powered by power banks (It has no built-in lithium battery and only saves the total mileage data when power is off, other data is not saved)
Satellite positioning speed: 1 to 3 minutes in open space; no satellite signal when indoor. (rainy days affect satellite positioning speed)

So, I took it with me, in the truck, today on tows
...ta see/figure out how it worked & also, how accurate it was ;)

It seemed pretty accurate, compared to the trucks speedo
...0MPH was ...0
...20MPH was ~20MPH
...but, it seemed ta be just bit off, as you got up in to the higher speeds

Ima thinkin' that it still should work great, for our purposes :wai:
...& look kool too 😎

So, I measured, marked & cut 'er out for the speedo ;)
...but, ran into an issue

The power wire "plugs" into the side of the speedo
...right where the power meter, is gonna be

Hmmm,
I wonder, what are the odds that I can maybe, heat this plug end up a bit (with a heat gun) & gently bend 'er up ta a ~90* angle
...without "killin' it"? :devil2:

Worked on the seat, a bit, last night (well, the bottom anyways)

Ima usin' a piece of 1/2" plywood
...a piece of 1" closed foam
...a piece of 1" soft foam rubber
...& (2) different kinds/styles of black vinyl type stuff (from Walmart)

For this one, Ima gonna try ta make 'er a bit more/kinda 3D (ish)

So, when sewing the "side strips" to the center piece, I added a couple of "channels" of material (just some scrap "jean" type material)
...to slid a couple of pieces of wire (with bent ends, for use with screws) into
...then, put 'em thru "slits" in the soft foam
...& finally, secured 'em down with a couple of screws ;)

* The idea is that these "wires" goin' thru the "channels" & screwed down, should "pull" the "seams" down
...helping to create a 3D situation :sifone:

** Also, I cut the top piece of (soft/white) foam ~1" bigger
...so, it could/would "wrap" over/around the stiffer (black) stuff (creating a softer edge) :cheers2:SAM_3385.JPGSAM_3430.JPGSAM_3432.JPG

I don't/can't do much playin' in the winter
...it's the "busy season" for towing cars (my "regular/other" job) ;)

* Folks seem ta forget how to drive when the snow starts falling :smiley_omg:
...& they don't seem ta "maintenance" their cars, like they used to either

Also, after workin' "out in it" (Northwest Ohio winters) for the past 25 (or so) years
...I don't much wanna go out & play in it :ack2:

So, I'll do my indoor projects
...& also, lots of "plannin", for next summers projects :cheers2:

They may forget what they know about driving when the snow starts falling in N.W. Ohio, but the truly dark comedy is what drivers do during a freak ice storm in sunny Jacksonville, Florida. Those folks didn't forget how to drive on ice, they'd never even seen an iced over road before.
In the HVACR service field I worked around the clock for 3 days and nights during that 7 degree rainy mess trying to get people warm, only had little 20-minute power naps in parking lots to get by. Out there running the roads I saw folks trying to do stuff with cars I'd never even thought of. Bet even as a tow driver you haven't seen a few of those things I saw, especially on our 7 high steel bridges over the St. Johns River.

After stretchin' 'er over the foam(s) & the base board
...& then, a little tuckin' (here & there)

I simply stapled 'er down, all along the perimeter, of the underside ;)

The first pic is before the tuckin' & staplin'
...& the second pic is after :sifone:

I'd have ta say the odds are at least, "fair ta middling" ;)

I gently clamped the plug end into the vice (ta help hold 'er & ta protect the open end, from the heat)
...then, gently heated 'er up
...& finally/gently, bent 'er over with a scrap piece of wood :sifone:

Looks good, so far (it didn't fall apart or crumble)
...next, I plugger 'er in to the GPS speedo (everything still seemed OK)
...then, I connected it to a power source

BOOM! it works
...& seems to "clear" the "meter area" pretty good too

Um...maybe we should "up" them odds a bit :innocent:

That went so well, I started wiring up the plugs for the hood/dash ;)

Ima thinkin' that there will be (3) plugs (so the hood is/will be easily removable, electrically)
...(1) plug is for the switches (0n/Off & Forward/Reverse)
...(1) plug is for the meter
...& (1) plug is for the headlights

I even marked 'em, for easy reference :sifone:
...but, I guess I didn't take any pics
...except for the meter wiring

Oh, yea
...I made some "award winning" ribs this eve, too :sifone:

I simmered (2) slabs of "well seasoned" ribs in (2) cans of Rootbeer for ~1 hour
...then, threw 'em on the grill for another hour (turning 'em every 25 min)
* I must say, they was "killer" :bannana:SAM_3494.JPGSAM_3496.JPGSAM_3500.JPG

Origami

Been doin' some Origami (or actually Kirigami, because of the cuts)
What?
Well...I noticed that many Slingshots have a set of louvers on/in/as the "shaker"
...so, I was just playin' around with some ideas :sifone: SAM_3479.JPGSAM_3483.JPGSAM_3484.JPG

Well, I guess everything cant be a success

I figured that I could make a nice louvered vent outta some TV "back plastic"
...but, I also, figured that I should do a "test piece" first ;)

I used an oscillating tool, ta cut 'em out
...& then the heat gun, ta soften 'em up

But, it turned out awful :ack2:
...just awful Ima tellin' ya

It was just soooooo bad :mad2:
...& on soooooo many levels

I even tried a "directional attachment"
...but, it didn't seem to help, at all

So, I re-evaluated the situation

* Q: What are the odds that another attempt will turn out any better?
A: IMO it's not lookin' good
...& so, I decided to abort the mission :furious2:

** I did get some pics, of the hood wiring plugs :cheers2: (that I forgot ta get yesterday)

Looks like you burned your way through it, like what would happen using a 13K rpm cutoff wheel. Or to a lesser degree a Sawzall or circular saw. That's clearly not the thermoplastic used in vacuum-forming, and the focus of a heat gun would never give you sharp bends like you want.
Your best bet with that stuff is to treat it as if it actually is vacuum-forming thermoplastic, ie; bake it in an oven. Once softened you can use a stiff metal putty knife/spreader to press your cuts through it laying on the floor as your backup spot. You can make a simile jig of coat hangers or such for it to lay on in the oven, and try some sharp bends at higher and higher temperatures until it's "plastic" enough to flop over a solid jig made of wood or something that's waiting just outside of the oven, or until it burns up.

I got lots of ideas (they just come at me, outta nowhere ;))
...& I'd say I've got about a 60% to 70% success rate
...so, I understand that everything is not gonna work (or at least not as expected) :cheers2:

Now, I thinkin' ta maybe tryin' ta airbrush some vents
...or maybe even get creative with some DIY vinyl sticker(s) :idea2:

As for vinyl stickers, something like these would be kool
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2736996062...1291&msclkid=0fafc2b1b4611523b053a38a2d48eeb1

or
https://www.ebay.com/itm/152588457482?hash=item2386fb160a:g:HfgAAOSwYlJW2dTq

This one is actually for a Slingshot
https://www.ebay.com/itm/123281367863?hash=item1cb4246337:g:1zwAAOSwyXVbX3N~

Wow! Here is a vent off of an actual Slingshot
...it's a bit damaged but, its kool!
https://www.ebay.com/itm/2242296424...sSKRR1bIKb2xFYXs7ArZ|ampid:PL_CLK|clp:2047675

I'm thinkin something more simple maybe like this (but, customized for a Slingshot)
https://supdec.com/images/6361_1_jeep_wrangler_19992006_custom_vinyl_hood_decal_kit__strobe.jpg

Still smokin'
