I picked up an electric 2000psi one from Costco a few years ago. I gets the job done for "most" projects. Only thing it doesn't do well with is my driveway cleaner disc thing. Needs a little more psi for that. Do plan on picking up a gas one when one falls into my hands.

Just for S&Gs seen that Protodie was under new ownership finally and seen that they do sell parts in collaboration with KJ Raycing for the VF CrossKart.

Been using Gemini and ChatGPT to see if they can help fix the ST2 plans I have. ChatGPT wants to completely redesign it and maybe use it as a loose template/guideline. Gemini is much more reasonable. That actually can look back into archival forums that were saved in the Wayback Machine/Internet Archive and look at threads of people who built these back in the early to mid 2000s. And learn what people did. Those who built the buggy strictly off the plans had a lot of issues with the frames bending because it used 1 1/2"x1 1/2"x0.065/16ga square tubing, which is way too thin. Front and rear A-arms are like 1" schedule 40 pipe, which is not even remotely structural. Polyurethane bushings with through rods instead of heim joints.

Then to top it off use 1" mild steel keyed shaft, 36" and cut it in three sections, using 2 sets of 1" u-joints. Those ended up breaking apart under acceleration. Badland Buggy tried to make the ST family of buggies a one size fits all to use snowmobile ot motorcycle engines and missed the mark. They should have used one or the other, not set them to to use both, or at least included in the plans to use either one but accommodated it accordingly. On top of that, they really had no solid direction they wanted to go. In the pictures they had of the buggy completed, they used a 2 stroke water cooled snowmobile engine, which back in the early 2000s were still not that common, free air and fan cooled sleds were far more common. And for the motorcycle version, they used like a Honda CB750 inline 4 air cooled, with the engine nearly against the rear firewall, with no oil cooler (these never had one as far as I am aware), so there would be minimal airflow over the heads and cylinders.

Still working in a game plan on what parts to use. It is trying to push me towards using Porsche 930 cv axles, but buy the parts individually vs a whole kit because companies are charging a PREMIUM for off road 930 axles, which makes sense. Main reason is, I am kind of leaning towards using ATV wheels and tires with a common 4x156mm bolt pattern and they do make a 930 stub shaft that will fit that bolt pattern.

Spent probably a solid 2 to 3 hours going back and forth, mostly because once you get to a certain reply amount, your device is using so much processing power that it lags so badly. So I may have to continue with using my computer instead, since it has way more power by comparison. Anyway, spent a lot of time trying to decide on maybe doing Spicer 1310 u-joints with slip yokes or ag PTO shafts since those will have the slip that is required to be used in a double a-arm suspension.

With so many forums gone and a lot of those members fell off, long past, or just don't go online to help share their knowledge anymore, it is harder to do any research into this stuff. While I am not the biggest fan of A.I for a variety of reasons, it is a tool that we can use, as long as we can correct it, which I had to do MANY times to get it on the right track.

One thing to bare in mind, it does use this forum as well as a source of information. Problem is, like many forums, information may not be 100% accurate. I am glad this forum still exists, even if its not as popular as it was when I had joined or even years before I joined.

Long as the information is still good and relevant, its a solid resource still.
