I'll give it to you, airsoft is a lot of fun and expensive, long as you don't buy the Walmart specials and you get the good ones that are steel and aluminum. They last so much longer than plastic and are quite durable. My friend had quite a few, probably close to $4000 in it. A paintball place near us, MN Pro Paintball allowed airsoft to take place after many years.
Hehe, yeah, when I look at the high end Evike Customs(395 FPS, 29 RPS on the Custom AK), it's incredible how much people will spend on these guns! The said AK is over $1,000 alone! My reaction initially was both

So far my loadout consists of a CYMA CM520 AK47 AEG(always liked the AK platform, known what it was as long as I can remember, plus the M4/AR-15 platform just looks ugly to me for some reason) with rails and the V3 metal gearbox(about 400 FPS or so), and a cheaper full metal springer 1911.
Of course, these are beginner guns, but the way I see it, hobbies are more enjoyable when I put less money into it. Eventually though, I'll probably upgrade to a nice AEP, the gas guns don't really appeal to me, and they're pricey.
Another cool thing is that I've actually learned about real guns in the process, so that's another plus. Plus as it turns out, the petroleum pipeline warning sign in the corner of our yard makes a great target! Makes a nice clang when I hit it.
Fortunately we also have a REALLY nice paintball park about 20 miles from us, and they also do airsoft.
