Last week, we were informed that our parent organization sold off some of our dealerships, so we have been bought out by another company. Our store has been closed since Monday the 17th and probably will be closed until tomorrow the 19th or possibly until the 21st, this friday. They are trying to train us on the new programs, but they have done a very poor job at actually getting us setup.

On top of that, we're also going from Spectrum internet to Allo, so a lot of our stuff is still finicky. Another thing is, the last program we were using, hasn't been released because of contractual issues. Honestly they should've give all of us off this whole week, paid, and had us come back next week and train on the new stuff. Yes we are being paid to be here, but we're wasting so much time doing nothing that it hasn't been beneficial for us to be here.

Your getting paid, so it is worth your time to be there. That’s how it works. When I worked for Buick we were bought and sold 5 times in 12 years and moved the whole dealership to new locations 3 times.

That's an absurd amount of buyouts and moves. I doubt our acquisition is abnormal. Technically it's a done deal but not at the same time. Lawyers are mucking up the waters with the documents as per usual. Just seems like the original owner made this as difficult as possible for the stores he sold off.

Just haven't posted much that's been worth while. Past weekend my dad came down and stayed with us for 4 days. Got two more lights installed in the garage. Added a third light switch in there as well to separate interior and exterior lights.

<—- this guy will be glad when August is over.

With my aged daily driver (2000 Nissan) I had the battery go dead (lasted 10 years!) — new battery bought

A flat front tire with two objects in it (looks like one Phillips screw and the other a finish nail) — 4 new tires on the menu

The aged riding lawnmower I cut my grass with burped and farted. Was mowing merrily along and then the engine started racing way past (governed) WOT. I will let you all guess the ailment — parts are on the way while the grass grows higher

Father fell and went to the hospital and will be getting some physical rehab that he needs.

I got a summer cold last Sunday and am already 90% better 🤒

AND yes I am reviving this thread which I don’t recall participating in before. Seemed like the right thing to do.

Out of motivation to do anything productive. Had my absolute worst pay period ever as a used cars technician. 53.9 hours from the 18th to yesterday. Normally I'm at like 80-112 hours for 8 days. So looking at a new job because this isn't sustainable. None of us are paid by the hour, only book time, just at a individually set dollar amount. I'm expecting this paycheck after benefits and taxes to be about $700-$800, instead of $1200-$1600 I'm used to.

It wasn’t a summer cold, it was a Covid variant.

I had a dumb idea the other night, but I might go for it. Evidently the Hall and York county fairs out here, both have lawn mower racing events. Reading their rule sets the engines cannot exceed 20hp and they need to have the stickers on them. No idea how their knowing what the limits are, when lawn mower engines haven't really been officially horsepower rated in like 16 years. I mean yeah some are SAE rated, but that's maybe just Kohler and Briggs.
