Just pull up on that red strap and that is the disconnect on the 300 and the Charger. On the Ram 1500, it's on the driver side near the parking brake pedal and that just pulls one side. To release it, just pop the pin with a pocket screw driver.

Hope this helps.

Yup, sure does

Does that red strap need to be held, in the release position? (like on older models)

How about some pics of the pick up truck disconnect (if you can)
…& specifically point out "the pin" & what need to be "popped"

...or maybe even the disconnect on other vehicles like the Caravans etc. :cheers2:

So that red handle does need to be pulled when you release the pin to put it back into place for parking. Obviously when that mechanism is locked up, the vehicle will roll, if the parking brake is not engaged or the tires are blocked, I believe it disengages the parking powl pin on the transmission.

Unfortunately right now I am a bit swamped so I cannot get more pictures for vehicles at work for it. But I'll do my best to get some when I have the opportunity. If I find pictures else where that helps out I'll post on here, probably on this post or the previous as an edit for future references.

Van style Pacifica disconnect. Need a small tool to pop it open. Just pull to lock it and pull again to unlock it.

Well spent most of my day driving between Lincoln and Omaha. Went up to one of our sister dealerships to see if a vehicle my wife wanted was up there. Well it was, after I was told they didn't have it. So went home and then went to my dealership, talked with the sales manager about it. He called up to the omaha store and talked to their general sales manager and got the ball rolling. So I had to drive up to Omaha with our lot porter on my day off to drop pick up a Pathfinder at one store, dropped off a Prius at another store, then went to the next store to pick up our new Mountaineer.

So now we have a 2010 Mercury Mountaineer 4.0 SOHC V6 AWD. Was a huge pain to get it. 3 weeks of back and forth with sales and we almost gave up on getting it.

Here's for the disconnect for the rotary gear select Ram 1500. Need something to carefully pop that cover off. Then just pull the lanyard. Similar procedure to unlock it. Pull the lanyard and take a small screwdriver on the thumb that holds it and release the lanyard. I'll do what I can so show the little lovking thumb.

Thanks, very helpful

Actually, I just used some of this info earlier today.

I had to tow a new (er) Charger from the police impound lot.
It had a bunch of bullet holes in it (window, fender, hood)
…& the engine "took a bullet" too :ack2:

It had power
...but, wouldn't start/run

So, I just popped the cover off
…& pulled on the strap

Rolled right up onto the truck
…& then, back off with ease :2guns:

I may have heard one of his songs in a movie, but I'm not sure. He's a bit before my time, still sucks when an artist dies.

Anywho, so I did a new Ram 1500 today, new body style for a pdi. Soon as I start pulling out of the parking spot with it to start my inspection, I heard a clicking sound coming from the left rear. Got it in my stall, found a screw in it. Pulled it a bit and it was leaking. So after I fixed the tire and completed the under hood and under the vehicle inspections, I took it on the 10 mile test drive. Barely got it out of the parking lot and found that the steering wheel was way of center to the right. So after completing most of my day, I was able to do an alignment on it. Not sure if the guy on the assembly line fell asleep or what but, the toe was way off by over a degree on both the driver and passenger side.

Anyway, Kevin here is the transmission disconnect for the new body style Ram 1500. Similar situation, but to release it, all you have to do is pull it back out of the lock and it'll release on it's own. I had to disengage the transmission anyway to do the alignment on it (same brand new truck that needed an alignment), so I got the pic for ya. Fortunately this door just needs to be popped open from above and has hinges, so it doesn't come off, unlike the previous generation (as well as the classic 1500).

Found this wrapped around the front driveshaft on a brand new Ram 1500. They hooked on the transmission cooler line bracket.

I went and fixed my my console armrest pad...
I guess the foam material, will crush and wont spring back, over a bit of use.
My right elbow likes to rest while driving, I kinda wore a groove into the pad...
I still had another bit of foam and vinyl from the last pad I made, but Im going to back it with a higher density foam, and that on top. the softer squishier foam on the bottom. I bought some kneeling pads from the dollar store.

After that shod it with some new vinyl covering.
Its about an 1" higher... barely noticeable... but this should last quite a while longer...

So I can't tell what ammo can that is from the picture, but I like it. Looks almost like the 40mm grenade can.

So can anyone see what the heck is wrong on this key tag? I mean I knew FCA was inflating numbers for payload and towing, but dang.

Been decent. Fortunately the boss is up at Sturgis until this Sunday, so hopefully we can relax a bit at work before he sucks the morale out of us.

Also looking at parts to buy for my eventual build. Thinking about buying either turn signals or motorcycle mirrors for it, will buy both, but not sure what to buy first. Already have 36 watt flood lights, need a brake light yet as well, as well as 3 more sets of heim joints. Buying all the small stuff that I can fit in totes so I can easily store it all together. Then when I have a place to build it, I have just about everything.

To commemorate the 150 Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad, Union Pacific has been taking the 4014 Big Boy across the Union Pacific lines. Ended up catching it today in Fremont, NE. Unfortunately it's no longer a coal powered steam engine, it's now running on No 5 oil. Still though, the train whistle is quite ghostly in sound.

WHOOOOOOTTTTTTT WHOOT WHOOTT WHOOOOOOOOTTTTTT.......
Fricken awesome.......
IN bc here we have quite the rail history aswell. Our part of the country here was put together by furtrade, gold/minerals and forestry with rail....
Just looked at a bunch of tubes about the 4014..

Its a real shame that the diesel displaced the steam engine.....that sound is something else....
The Chief must feel like a god commanding that beast and pulling the cord for the main whistle... Crikey.... literly goosebumps when hearing that whistle go...

Quite the crew to run that beast I can imagine, oiling and greasing must take hours....
