predator 212 start problem

Hey on my pred I added a cam valve springs and flywheel with a Briggs slider carb but it wont start??

Did you align the cam and crank timing marks?
Did a lifter fall out during install?
Is the valve lash set properly?
Does the flywheel have a key? Is it aligned properly?
Coil gapped properly?
Spark plug wire on?
Gas in the tank?
Gas in the bowl?
Switch turned on?

Does it have a fuel pump? Bowl might be dry, does it hit on starting fluid, ect?

So remove the parts that make it run, add new parts, now it doesn't run. If it was me I would put the old parts back on and see if I could get it to run. It might be edu-ma-cational.

The list that WTR took the time to type out is just senseless logic. I wonder if a troubleshooting flowchart would work with it?

Imagine this gen using a card catalog and writing down numerous notes, then having to use the DD system and find a book in a building full of books to find any info your looking for.

Or buying a magazine and waiting a whole month for the next edition to come out so you can read part 2 of how to....

I didn't think it needed them I didn't put rockers on it yet...?? Am I wrong?

There’s usually one on the exhaust valve from the factory.
