my Clark Cyclops 440 restoration

Pics of my Clark Cyclops 440 restoration. My cart from early 1980s, spent countless hours and summers riding it. Restored so my son can ride it again (in a few years). Added the pipe behind the axle under engine plate and strengthened the joints on seat pan. All that's left is to get a new seat made.

Fox II finished

Finished the kart today. Everything works well, engine is perfect, and it's a plush ride for the grandkids. Before and after pics here. There's a build thread with more detail pics.

And as it sits now, BTW it's an 84 Margay Xpert-II according to Keith at Margay. It's been a 2 yr odyssey to this point, the plan for the winter is a final teardown frame mods, powder, & chrome, then it should be finished.

Would like to find some original Series 62 wheels/hubs, if anybody has lead please contact me.

Even with just a KT100, it's amazing how fast this thing is with my 48yo 6'0" 230# A$$ on it! :lolgoku:

Bought a Manco go kart with a blown engine for $50. I welded a roll cage to it, hooked up a horn from a Toyota Tacoma to the front bumper, chromed the pedals, put a harbor freight engine on it, got rid of the slicks, mounted a shotgun holder that I removed from a cop car so it can hold airsoft guns and did some graphic design work to it and gave it to my step son yesterday for Christmas. He liked it. I have about $350 into it.

The murray was called the blue beast. Yerfdog was called bumblebee. Murray was powered by a 6.5hp HF engine, and the yerfdog by a honda 5.0hp pressure washer motor. Yerfdog had a 12 tooth clutch, 60 tooth sprocket, and 18 inch tires, was used on pavement and clutch never burnt up. Merray had a 12 tooth clutch which went to about a 24 tooth jackshaft which was converted to a 32 tooth sprocket and from that 32 it went down to a 42 tooth sprocket on the axle. Tires were 18 inches i believe and it was used off road mostly, although it had enough power to spin its tires from a dead stop on pavement.

This project isn't quite done. (Are they ever?) It is a YerfDog 3020 that I rebuilt for my kids. It has 19 inch ATV tires on all 4 corners.
