That looks pretty good. But Is the latch mechanism gonna work? I am just thinking you want to check before paint.

So....I block sanded the whole tailgate until either all the primer was gone or I started hitting metal high spots....

The leftover primer patches showed me where to apply some more glazing putty. After blocking it out, it should be ready for a couple of coats of primer and a spritzing of black lacquer, follwed by wet sanding, until the lacquer disappears.

Not to change the subject but I feel your pain. This is one of my Novas 3 years ago. Took 4 months to sand down because the compressor kept ****ting the bed. Over $1200 in sandpaper alone. 5 other cars had to be held up so this could be done for the Hot Rod Power Tour which I never got to. #Roadkill.

Yeah Mindy....even though I have them, this tailgate hasn't seen a die grinder or a body file....because they're hard on small compressors like mine....

Most of the sanding has been hand sanding with wood blocks.

Speaking of which: the last glazing putty has been blocked out and what little primer I had sprayed on...

More primer, black lacquer, and wet sanding to come....

Also....I bought a tube of sunlight activated spot putty....that will hit some very small imperfections.

Wait... I thought the Big ol' state of TX was nothing BUT Fords? How come you had to go through all of this?

BTW: Need a parts truck? You pay for shipping.
