please look your karts engine mount over carefully. does It look like it’s been ground out with an angle grinder to fit the bigger 11hp? theres no way your kart has a 5hp mount. That 11hp won’t even bolt up if it does. one of my streakers has a ground out engine plate I can see it’s been ground wider. and the previous owner said he took the 11hp e-start Briggs to a guy to get fixed and the guy told him the engine was junk... So my one streaker did have an 11hp they thought was stock at one point.

Put it with the fat red wire from the battery to the solenoid. Here's an option.

Yes.. my mistake.I think that was mentioned by someone earlier that they did come with 11 hp stock and electric start. There is no grinding on the mounting plates or block, so I think it is set up for the 11.

The wire in the link I sent? It's just a combination battery and fuse wire. I wanted to show you where the fuse wire went. It goes with the fat positive battery cable.

I am pretty excited and my grandkids will be thrilled! We're having a sleepover in 2 weeks so I am on a deadline for the reveal....yikes!
I haven't finished the wiring harness but decided to shoot some gas in and see what would happen giving her a couple of spins....we have ignition! So now I am in carb and governor land trying to set things up as they should be. I gotta say...nice to hear her roar...even for only a few seconds.
So last night I found my way out to my barn (again...) to do some work on the buggy's wiring. As always, I was putzing around the beast looking for missing items and other opportunities to improve, when suddenly I was inspired to check the carb settings (which I had not touched yet).
So I verified the 1.5 turns out on the adjusting screws, choked her up, gave her a sip, and did a crankshaft spin with my cordless drill and socket. Lo and behold....she starts to roar (surprising the hell out of me, frankly) as I "streaked" to get to the throttle control. So I let her run for a couple of minutes ( smiling from ear to ear)...it was a good night!
So, to all my trusted sources of information that have brought me to this milestone, I thank you!
But wait.....the journey now appears to have gone from motor change out to rehab, rewiring just her essentials to reviving the electric start (my new voltage regulator just arrived, by the way) and possibly adding some lighting.....nice work! Stay tuned, we are now about to embark on a whole new adventure....carb and throttle control!

This motor has no pull starter so it was either I waited until all my wiring was done to use the electric starter or use the drill. Since I am not a good "waiter" DeWalt came to the rescue. Believe me... the drill and my wrist wished it was otherwise......lol.
Thanks BBR....I'll be looking for your input on how this Throttle and Control Unit is set up. Problem is, all the complicated arrangements are on the engine side so you really can't see anything but a flat plate and a slide....but we'll get there.

I've never started an engine with a drill believe-it-or-not! Heard it hurts though... I hope I can help with the throttle, not my specialty but I'll try. I will say you are quite the enjoyable person to "work with". Onward! This Streaker will for certain look better than mine when finished, original paint! If there was a yard kart magazine, this thing would be front and center! That gives me an idea... anyone know sponsors?

I haven't the slightest if yard kart "mags" exist, but if not maybe someone here could make something. I'd be happy to do a story/build story on mine. Could be a fun project, not for the faint of heart. @ezcome-ezgo, you up for it?
