While I'm waiting on parts for frank, Egor and I have been trying to straighten out the Naughtagator fiasco. A fiasco that has taken us from plan A all the way to plan H. Short version, the original engine planned was scrapped, the transmission hates neutral, bla bla bla.
Being stuck with the vertical engine design, due to the transaxle having a vertical input shaft and chassis configuration....
The belt tensioner/engagement clutch contraption is complete, tested and passed inspection.
This is a typical Mountain top/ ghetto fab contraption. It works and that's all that matters for this "utility vehicle" to haul us and some tools around the vast Mountain top campus.

I hope you’re using high quality bearings.
Funny part about this is, the most of this thing is made from scrap and junk, but since I have them left over, I use bearings that are worth more (retail) than everything else put together! The bearings on Frank's rear (that doesn't sound right) are worth $1200/side. They only cost me about $75.

The Naughtagator was sent up from the Skunkworks division, for its initial testing and trials. After a gearing change and a few minor problems, it has become operational. Still a lot to do, like floors and paint and several other things. The mechanical and operational aspects are performing beyond expectations.
a few more days of trials, and she’ll be sent back for completion.

Needs more toothpicks and superglue. Or just Saw-Glu.
Balsa toothpicks.
Now it just needs a mowing deck and a small plow! 🤪
Got a Kobota fer dat.
I need a gator, but can't justify the expense and I refuse to get one of dem chinese mini trucks.
Wife hates the thing, gives me carp about being a freaked out mad scientist running amok in the junkyard. She has a point.
Even better maybe she'll go buy a gator....

A finely crafted vehicle such as this deserves a hood ornament. Something that conveys the quality and craftsmanship that went into its design and engineering.
So l recruited one of the grandbrats to help design and build one. A quick web search and we came up with a plan. A visit to the Mt.Top scrap yard for materials and:
