On this episode of Naughtagator Egor and I began mocking up the steering.
Steering requires some special tools, an angle finder is helpful, but an Ouija board is mandatory. When all else fails the Ouija board allows ya to summon help from "beyond". After such a consultation we have an ugly but quite functional steering setup. A couple of minor tweaks and we can start welding.

Before you start welding, make sure to have your rabbits foot and any other good luck charms you might posses close by. Also don't forget to chant some strange sounds, and maybe humm for a little bit. Read somewhere that it helps the fiinal alignment of the front end stay true.

Found a couple of hours to work on naughtagator.

played around with a Logo. Need to improve it and make a horn button for the wheel.
The wife doesn’t like it! Musta hit a nerve…

Then screwed around mocking up what the rear might look like.
Lenghtened the axle a bunch so some outboard bearings are in order.

Found a couple of hours to work on the NAG.
So l went for the scrap pile and found a gem!
So Egor fabbed up a throttle pedal.
This is starting to have a rat feel to it.
Thinking a Rat gator would be cool.
Naughtagator or Ratgator?

Today @ the mountian top lab Egor and l worked on the rear axle setup.
The scrap pile gave up some .250 wall tubing for the cause.
First, had to cut a 3/16 keyway cuz that fits the wheel. Had to cut a snap ring groove as well.

The axle steps down to 3/4 OD where it fits the wheel. The transaxle is 3/4 as well.
So there is a long 3/4 ID coupler between the TA and the wheel. That coupler gets drilled and tapped for set screws to secure it to the TA. The other end is welded.

Test fit everything.

It passed final inspection. Now to go get some set screws.

Since there is no real plan we work on whatever we feel like. Get bored with one project move on to another.
Working on the cargo area today. This is the upper deck. The lower deck is reserved for heavy things like generators, pressure washers etc.
I need to find some aluminum for the floors, but sadly the scrap pile doesn't offer up anything big enough. The scrap pile did offer these cool laser cut strips that look purdy cool as side rails. I put some cardboard behind my fine creation, cuz the background is purdy distracting. I want to be sure everyone can appreciate the fine craftsmanship that went into this. Please disregard the heat signatures from the welds on the opposite side.

Since we bounce around and do whatever sounds like fun, we thought starting on the engine mount stuff would be cool.
l need a plate for a vertical shaft engine to sit on. That plate needs a 7.5 inch hole in it.
Can’t be done with a hole saw and free hand cutting by any means isn’t accurate enough. So its time for the new (patented) Plasmaspinna!

this is what a plasmaspinna looks like

the results
