My parts from BMI came today...a lot earlier than I expected (considering I ordered them Thursday night) form the USPS.

Still awaiting the hubs and another wheel from my neighbor before I can finish this thing up, ALMOST THERE

So, while I await the hubs and wheel, I thought that I should try hooking up the kill switch.

But I dont know how...any suggestions? this is my kill switch, and some wire at the throttle linkage if it helps

Jamyers: I know you explained it to me briefly in your thread, but I didnt quite get how it all came together

Basically, a kill switch earths the spark. You need to take the wire from the throttle linkage & connect it to the wire from the switch. There should be a second wire from the switch to the frame, unless the switch itself is grounded.

Well, I got fed up with the pull cord ripping out of myt hand, being slack, and the engine being hard to start. With the help of youtube I tensioned up the spring in the recoil starter and the chord works perfectly now.

I am taking Toystory's advice to inspect the flywheel key to see if it is sheared. I am doing thi because sometimes the chord rips out of my hand. Before I go ripping into the flywheel and the engine, I had a few questions to make sure I am doing this right:

-Could it really be the flywheel key? I did a quick search through the forum and some threads have said its actually the valve leash. I really dont want to dig throughthe valves because it seems very complicate and I dont have many of the specialized tools so I could easily mess up the engine.

-What is the easiest, safest, most effiecient way to remove the flywheel? I have heard the prybar and hammer method works well. I am heading to Harbor Freight today to pick up a 15/16's socket to get the nut off.

Alright, well, this flywheel nut is just being a b!otch and doesnt want to come off. I have used the ratchet, some WD-40, and my strength, but this thing just doesnt want to come off. Anyone have and tips, tricks, or ideas to get it unscrewed?

Edit - nevermind, im going to try the engine how it is and not worry about the key for now. If it gets on my nerves again, Ill see what Ill do.

yea, I havent worked on it in a while. I ordered hubs last week and they arrived, fit my wheel. More trouble with the keyway lining up on the hub and the locking collar :ack2::mad2::furious2:

gonna mess with the cable hook ups and mounting bolts for everything this week. Hopefully I can get with the guy that has been helping me with this and we can finish this B1tch.

taking forever but I am learning alot and it has been fun. It will hopefully get finished eventually!

got the other rear wheel from my neighbor tonight. Ive got a roller now! looks kinda like a dragster.

Edit - I really hope I dont have to change my 6:1 ratio because I have 18" tires.
