And never skipped to have broken drill bit. It happened when the screw was not sat correctly on the tool during drilling works.

However, I make sure I have spare unit in case this happens.

are you sure your welds will hold?? Your moving to fast slow down and drag the puddle of wire across to ensure good penetration. pillow blocks are kinda overkill dont you think? Looks great though nice job!

Jrmints 1415,

Thanks for reminder:biggrin5:. I ride my buggy (1st design) at 40-50 km/hr and so far had no problem with my welding works. To ensure better hold is there, I welded the critical parts several times until it looks thicker. Infact, the 2nd design is the replication of 1st design. Any flaw in my 1st design will not be repeated in 2nd design.

Help me with my rear axle shaft if you ever have experience with this matter:cheers2:. It broke again.

Turned the frame up side down and drilled the holes underneath the frame to drain out the trapped water. Hope this will prevent the occurrence of rust.

Finally parked the partially completed frame after targeted works were done successfully.

Need to continue the works again next weekend or when the time permits.

Nice going! You are coming along nicely. I think you have given a lot of people good ideas for their builds. You are doing things in ways that nobody though of. I am talking about thinks like your spindles and steering. They are very clever.

WOW very interesting build.

The first design is screaming for an ATV axle like this.

this is just a picture of a chinese ATV axle as an example that I found just to show you.

I doubt you would be able to find an ATV rear axle assembly like this there though.

The thing about that axle is it is hardened steel and is only supported by 2 bearings in the center and has the hubs, sprocket and brake disc all there. They really are about as simple and compact as it gets.

The bad thing is if it breaks you'd need to get parts for it so building your own is really the best way.

Excellent builds I love reading about your progress and solutions to the various problems.

Thanks TeamCheap for your input and the picture. It really helps as an alternative to my problem solving with my 1st design's rear axle. I take note on your comments.

I guess I need to review the weaknesses of my first design's rear axle. May be need to include some kind of "connector" at the broken point. Only not sure from where to start. Appreciate if some of you could give any idea.

Installed them on my steering as my tie rod. Adjusted the length to ensure the wheels are proprely aligned with the centre.
