:iagree:
The problem is the internal Governor is a gear.
But it is Plastic.
It will not take the RPMs. It will Shatter.
It is NOT hard to remove.
There are many very goood How to vids as well. Here and U tube and
my fav. is at Affordable go karts , com.
It is easy. and fun. and you get to look inside the engine and see how awsomely simple these things really are. You can do this.

Go for the live axle though!
and your pics did not work.

Bypassing governor: BIG FAT NO!!!! Either remove it or leave it!!! (As in AS IS!) Sorry...just the way it is....when you bypass the governor, you expose the VERY weakest part of the engine to higher revs...and all those little exploded pieces floating around have been known to cause more frequent oil changes as a hole in the side of the block doesn't retain oil very well.

I agree. Rather leave the governor alone. As far as I know you can back the screw out that stops the butterfly from opening all the way. This will give you a few more RPM's for free

Thanks. Now, I'm going to need an axle 40-42 inches long. Seems kinda wide. Also, I'm going to need to remove that bar for the fixed axle, actually, I can't, because it's nessecary (edit: not so sure, maybe the live axle will help without that bar) for frame integrity. So, I'm going to have to cut a slot for the sprocket and weld a couple pieces in around it.

Also, I'd like to put the sprocket on the center of the axle. This would mean turning the engine around. So, I'd need a reversed exhaust. Any ideas on where to get this?

Tubes use valve stems, Sometimes the tires actually spin on the Wheel. The tube gets sheared off.
Happened to me with the 3hp Kids Buggy!

If you have tubeless tires that are in good shape...and tubeless rims...with clean beads, there's no reason.

Tubeless rims may need to be modified to use tubes.

I suggest "dont."
When this happened to me last year, I had brand new Wheels, tubes and tires.
They all came from the same place pre assembled. So I did not just stick an inner tube in a tubeless rim or anything Funny.
But yep the wheel spun inside the tire and tube shearing the Valve stem.

Maybe it was a fluke. But If you are buying new stuff and really have a choice.... Then I suggest dont. Why add another potential problem you can avoid.

Alright. I know my last pictures didn't work, I'll post them when I get to my computer. I have the body paneling on now, and I'm stripping the kart down to build the live axle, but I decided that today I'm going to paint it solid blue and black (I hate red).

I'm grabbing some primer from ace in a couple hours. I also have two brand new cans of rustoleum blue paint. No lacquer for this kart, it's just not necessary to me... Also I'll be doing a lot of sanding today.

Also, that governors coming off. Still don't have the 170$ for live axle parts though from GoPowerSports.

Is it possible to save money by using my current drive wheel like in this thread (post #83)?

Also check out BMIkarts they have a few different options for Live axle kits.
Listed under Drift trikes. Maybe save a couple bucks?

I have no idea on how to put them on the rims, Thanks.

The predator is currently in pieces. Trying to figure out how to mount my throttle cable when I'm done...

That moment when you run out of paint just before you have those three tiny corners painted and you have to drive to the store and spend 4 bucks again.
