im very jealous of that yamaha! :drool5: i've recently been lookin into those (the xs650s anyways) to make me a nice bobber, but its hard to find a cheap fair condition one! i wanna try to build a decent one as cheap as possible. how much you give for that one if you dont mind me askin?

Ya its a cool bike! Its not mine though, I'm fixing it for my uncle, but Im supposed to sell it for him once I fix it. PM me what you think a fair price is for it.

Got my shocks in the mail yesterday, so Im thinking I might mount them today  Pics later.

Got one of the two rear shocks almost mounted, and started on the other side. Turns out the upper shock mount is going to be kind of confusing to make, but I should be able to figure it out tomorrow.

About 1/2 inch of clearance at full droop. More clearance is gained throughout travel.

if u triagulate that shocky mount bar to the front and rear down and up then it should work

if u over engineer any partthen this is it
i dont need to tell u bad things will happen if it fails
but it needs to be simple at the same time

the bottom one looks good though

Make a C bracket and then reinforce the he// of of that little tube because that'll never hold.

The little tube isn't the only mount. I started to fab something up for the other side, but I have to finish it tomorrow.

I got both of the shocks mounted today:

What I started to fab up

I still think you need to somehow support it from above, since there is no opposing force there. They push up but there's nothing to directly oppose that upward force.

That's what I was going to do tomorrow. It will be a triangle in the end. Thanks!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I got in a motorcycle accident so I just hung around the house for a few days. If all go's well the buggy will be a rolling chassis tomorrow , just gotta grad a few parts. Went to my uncles today and found some new (to me) tires for the buggy. Instead of 24's in the back and 22's in the front I will now have 25's all around :D . Hopefully Ill have a update for you guys tomorrow

Man road rash must suck :/
But your build is comming along very nicely :)

It does man lol. Thanks!

Got the new tires mounted today. Getting the new tires off the old rim was a b****. I tried every method in the book, and finally had to take it to a tire shop where they used their pneumatic bead breaker which only took a second to pop it off :mad2: . Only charged my 4 bucks though  . I also got the nuts welded in for my heims on the front a-arms. The whole buggy should be rolling by tomorrow :D:D:D

Your build is turning out really nice. What welder are you using. Excuse me if you have already said, I have only glanced over your thread.

Nice clean Nissan you got there, I'm jelly. Buggy lookin good too!

Ya lol, my cousin got it for free from one of his neighbor. Deal of a lifetime.....

Nice job on the buggy, wish I had the talent to do a build like that. :)

Stop wishing and start doing man! When I started this I couldn't weld, and had far less skills than I have right now. By building this I gained the talent that I have today  If you can dream it you can build it

That buggy is looking really sweet!!

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I appreciate it!

Wheelbase Should be fine as is. It looks alot longer than it is because of the camera angle. When its finished the wheelbase should look something like this.

Same here lol. I didn't know if I would like the wide stance, but the more I look at it, the more I like it

What is the rear A-arm mount made of?
