I'll use the stock dished piston with the connecting rod, they should both agree on .709 inch wrist pin.
I dont know what the new deck height will be with the longer connecting rod but if it adds +.2 at tdc then im guessing the new height should be .02 in. with a compression ratio of 10.6
Thoughts on buying the head gasket from dover power? The smallest width gasket I could find on OMB was .01 same with GPS.
I suggest
3 side cover gaskets.
Get a shimmed .027" head gasket. You can pull em apart to get .018" and .009". Then you will have extras.
Always get a new piston, rings, wrist pin, clips kit. Jus incase piston to cylinder clearance, and ring ends gaps are off. I start a build with 3 of each, minimum. Mess it up here, and it'll be a......turd.
Crank and cam shims. Look closely at the side of that rod in my pics. It's tore up on the sides. That came outta my 224 with only 3-4 break in hrs on it, before I shimmed the crank and cam. Shims keep everything nice and lined up, less heat, less drag and resistant = a faster revving engine.
Cam choice, stock or performance???
Valve springs gotta match the cam.
Valve spring shims. They set the pressure of the springs. The spring pockets in these heads are all wacked. Not enough pressure will cause valve float, too much pressure will wipe out a cam lobe.
What's the stamp letters on your rockers??? They are different.
And jus think......you jus getting started
