Here are some common components in a 250cc electrical box. Maybe this will help. Maybe consider both front and rear harnesses along with the parts shown to do a complete redo.

Without knowing exactly what machine you have it's difficult to say what everything is for or if you need those parts in question. The relay looks like the starter solenoid possibly, not sure about the resistor. Mopar used a ballast resistor in their older cars that had a high failure rate. It would reduce current to the coil and points when starting the engine to help prevent damage to the ignition system. This is the problem when buying unknown machines with no documentation. With so many Chinese buggy karts out there you need to know which one you have to properly fix it or diagnose it. I'm only familiar with the American Sportworks or Landmaster machines since there's documentation available and some support.
Since I wired up the key, the start makes a very loud noise when I crank it.

The one way starter clutch is bad. When you crank the engine, the one way clutch only turns one way then when the engine starts it keeps it from rotating backward.

You'll need this special tool to remove the flywheel. This is why I got away from working on these machines. I mostly look for 2 seater yard karts anymore. Toss a Predator engine on it with a new torque converter, rebuild the seat, throw a coat of paint on it and ride. No cumbersome 300 lb. buggy to push around, no chopped up wires, no batteries, just a basic kart that's much easier to work on and move around. I'd rather spend nice Summer days riding rather than spending hours on a Chinese beast and hope it runs. Just my opinion though, they do have their place. I've actually moved on to self propelled mowers, easier yet to lug around and parts are at the local mower shop. Again, just my opinion.

Don't bother with the "special clutch nut removal tool", just get a punch or screwdriver, put it in one of the washer notches and tap it loose.

Which engine do you use from harbor freight?

I try and find the 212 Hemi version with the cast valve cover instead of the stamped steel one. I'm not sure they indicate which is which from the model number anymore. Used to be the 60363 was the Hemi and 69730 was the standard block. I went with the bigger 224cc engine once just to try it out.

I have one ready to go on a 2 seater out in the carport when the weather improves. Great Grandson wants to get into karts, I'll hook him up.

They don't specify which engine is in the Box anymore. It's all the same part number. But if you look in the hand hold punch out you can see the valve cover. If it's a rectangle it's the Hemi, if it's more hexagonal it's this standard wedge head.

Karttekks pic is a hemi.

This is the last kart I reconditioned and sold this past Summer. New mudder tires, paint work, new torque converter, new engine, rebuilt seat, new tie rod end. Guy bought it for his kid for Christmas. I wish there would have been something like this under the tree for me at Christmas.
