no, tomorrow if all goes well i'm hoping to have the engine mounted, i need an angle grinder and 1" hole saw. I did however make a jig on my drill press for tube notching, and made a little adapter arm for my master cylinder so i can use it with a food pedal (was set up for handlebars stock).

Yea, i've seen that video, was pretty sweet haha.

UPDATE

The engine is mounted! I ran out of wire so its only tacked, but its all in place and fits good, a little snug but not horrible.

Who is this kart going to be willed to after you kill yourself with it?

For $100 i can put you on the will:cheers2:

Ordered my sprockets, Total of $31, might need a bit more chain though. This will give me a calculated top speed of around 70mph in 5th.

I did some more rough calculations, and got some ratios together. From transmission to engine i have a 2.25:1 (Approx.) ratio in 6th gear, and from tranny to engine i have a 6:1 ratio (Approx.) in 1st gear. With the sprockets i bought, and my tire size, redline of engine, etc i get a 29mph top speed in first... does that seem a bit high, or is it just me? I guess i'll just have to see if the engine has enough power, i may have to step up one of my sprockets a bit.

EDIT: Im thinking my calculations must be off, the final drive ratio on the bike was 3:1 with 26" tires. Now with my kart and 15" tires i changed the final drive to 2.22:1, i know for a fact that bike didnt hit 30 in first, maybe 20 tops. I guess i'll just have to wait and see.

So i've just been doing frame reinforcing. I ordered some pillow blocks for the jackshaft, and made half the shifter linkage. Everything is looking great at the moment, im basically waiting on my orders so i can make the jackshaft mounts. I also need to finish my muffler, and do my exhaust routing so i can set up my seat, and from there i can set up pedals/rest of the shifter linkage. I'll get some pictures of the frame tomorrow, and maybe even some pictures of the muffler im making.

Pictures!
Added a support up front

Also added a few in back, between the two frame rails.

Shifter linkage jackshaft

Motor mounts are fully welded up

I also found some info on the bike, including all the gear ratios and such.
Heres the ratios i figured, with top speeds at 8500rpm (redline).
1st - 14.183:1 (27mph)
2nd - 9.813:1 (39mph)
3rd - 7.375:1 (51mph)
4th - 6.148:1 (62mph)
5th - 5.366:1 (71mph)
6th - 4.922:1 (77 mph)

Yea haha, first paintjob was camo, then every time i added something i would cover up the welds/grinds with some other random paint. So right now its a combo of tan/black/green/brown/gold and probably a few others.

Also, does anyone know if a lawn mower battery would to start this bike? or should i just use a full size car battery (dont feel like buying a motorcycle battery).

So, i finally got my pillow blocks, and sprockets i ordered. I made the jackshaft mounts, and started the brake pedal setup. It's looking pretty good so far.

Heres the pedal setup, it isnt welded on, but it'll make more sense once its together.

Heres the master cylinder, its basically just clamped to the frame.

Jackshaft Mounts

I also checked chain length, and i have enough to go from engine to jackshaft, and from jackshaft to axle with like 5 links to spare haha. I need to make a hardware store run tomorrow (half day at school!) for some cutting discs, 1/2" bolts, and a #50 chain masterlink. then i can move on.
