Right so today was the big day. Would it work?

Yes it did!!

I took it down to one of our fields with the quad and it is a blast! Thank you guys so much for helping me.

It`s still not finished though. Still need to paint it and I want to add an aluminum flywheel, better cam, billet con rod, mikuni 22mm carb, better valve springs and a ported and polished GX140/120 cylinder head to the engine.

For the first time a while, I've had a spare hour or so to work on this.

Picture 1) I have a few spare trimmers laying around, so I nicked the toggle switch off one.

Picture 2) I then fabbed up a bracket

Picture 3) And bolted it to the steering wheel.

Picture 4 & 5) I also removed the chequered plate/pan thing from the kart as rust was building up there and it collected dirt and stones. It may be replaced with something else but I doubt it.

The Plan is to have a key switch at the engine or on the steering wheel as well so that it isn't as easy to start if someone tries to steal it.

This is the key switch I'll probably be putting on it. It's nice and cheap too: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/On-Off-Tw...851?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3399c31c13

Come on guys. Please reply, I wanna hear from you!!

On the 1st page, I posted some pics of the tyres that I bought, but unfortunately, the skinny ones on the front make steering worse than what it already is. I am however using the rear ones on the front. Here is a link to them: http://www.petrolscooter.co.uk/quad...s-kazuma-meerkats-chinese-kids-quads-atv.html

The one's I am using are used because they have been on the kart for a while.

For the rears however, I have a list of tyres:

145x70x6 Quad Tyre for £19.99:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/145x70x6-...180?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item258b00f2fc

DURO HF240 145x70x6 for £19: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DURO-145x...929?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20e1555719

Same tyres as I will have on the front for £17.99: http://www.petrolscooter.co.uk/quad...s-kazuma-meerkats-chinese-kids-quads-atv.html

Or the Kenda Scorpions

I'm leaning toward the first one, the 145x70x6 Quad tyre.

Looking good

I like the ones that will match your front.
Thanks, I may still go for different knobbies though.

I'm sort of at the point where I'm wondering, do I change my carb to a 22mm and get more power out of it, or do I just add a performance air filter to my original one. Keeping in mind a 22mm carb is about £15 and an adapter for my original carb to fit a performance air filter would be about £10

is it a budget thing or can you not actually but parts where your located? Not really sure of any other options unless you have a buddy or school with a lathe machine to make you one. :surrender:

All the air filter adapters are sold in the US, and the shipping is more than twice the price of the product, which means the cheaper option would be to make one.
