Only thing is it has a 25.40mm bore shaft (1 inch). I'm thinking on getting an inch bore 30 series Comet TC. Good idea?

Well, it goes without saying that this thread needs an update!

Replaced the fuel tank with a new one, redone the governor linkage (still needs some fine tuning), got a 3d printed air filter adapter and 2 flat front wheels.

Still having trouble with the carb and recoil. Replaced the recoil spring and swapped the chinese carb for the original genuine carb that came with the engine. Runs well although has a little dirt in it so struggles to idle. Also part of my steering wheel broke off (the bit that the throttle attaches to), it had broke off before and had been bolted back together so I just have to rebolt it on.

I'm planing on redoing the front axle since it is terrible and the steering angles are not great. Also I might redo the rear sub frame and install a TC.
