Oh yeah, I know.. the original meaning is about fortune in nearly every ancient culture around the globe, and 'we' germans spoiled it all on our own
and I'd love to have it back the way it was pre nazi germany too,
I'm perfectly happy to see it on buddhist temples for example,
on a german themed kart... not so much
I don't give a flying shirt about period correctness for that matter...

The nicest I can put it is "it stands for intolerance",

Blitzwagen is actually nice Chris, but used..

Aside from the possible WWII association, I liked the translation. One could sub in other words... Donnerwagen (thunder, if google translate is serving me well) Königwagen (King?) Machtwagen (power? Force?)

I saw no swastika in any of the pictures, but I did see an iron cross... Which is a design borrowed from the Maltese Cross... Both symbolic of honor....I am of German heritage myself.

Unless the swastika pic was removed, in that case, nevermind....

iron crosses are perfectly okay...
it was used since 18hundredandabit and is still in use today not only as the signet of german military forces, but also again as medal (first 2009 ..first since since WW2 that is )

Yeah, it bugs me when people confuse the two...

I like the 'mobile art' aspect of the Kart Rods, takes some vision to look at stuff and see it in a different use.

Part II

For those following along, the 2nd part here is of the ones that either don't exist anymore or are on the shelf.

Pics 1 and 2 are of the Semi O'Death. The frame originally used was really a pile of crap and was put out to pasture while I search for a suitable replacement frame. It's parts are on the shelf for now. It existed as a runner for months, then was transferred to the frame used by Bonneville Spirit to see if a stretched version would have looked better. While I liked it, it wasn't to be because Bonneville was going to use that stretched frame. The cab portion of the Semi was made from an old fiberglass boat console.

Pic 3 was Brown Thunder. It was an artistic mess and it just didn't work right. It's front & rear pieces were a metal trailer fender from 1961 and was a neat teardrop shape.

Pic 4 was brown thunder revisited. Stripped and colors changed, it still didn't work right... so it's parts are on the shelf for another day.

Pic 5, again, the frame of Brown Thunder turned into a new idea, Unit 51 (moving violation). It used the fins from a boat and an actual pedal car stamped metal body for it's front piece. Still, the frame was wrong...

So for those three, they'll return in time.

Pic 6 was just the semi and U51 together at one time.

Pic 7 is the minibike I created. It's not together at the moment and will return in time as well.

So there you have it at the current time. You'll see parts here & there in all of them that have changed location over time... because that's all this is about. Using what you have, and making it work.

And it doesn't cost all that much, making it a great hobby.

I'm looking for a simple bolt on solution for the Baroness. Does anyone sell, or know of, a decent chain tensioner that isn't over done, over built and looks cool? The the chain on The Baroness is going to be rather long so I'm looking for a usable solution.

Anyone got any thoughts?

#35s. I just want something I can just bolt the **** on and have it work... with little or no hassle, period. Heck, let's draw up a plan, machine something that you can just bolt on to any TUBE and sell them.

there are tube mounted chain tensioners for bicycles.. (no sprocket but a hard rubber roller), the downside,for really small tubing I'm afraid.

What tube diameter are you talking about?
