Update:
Home from work again, the usual.
But first, a little story for you.
In the beginning of all this, it was really about just throwing together some rides out of crap I could scrounge up.
As an artist, it started going further and into a place that revolves around things that were important to me throughout my life.
For instance, Sarge. I never really planned making that thing. But when it emerged as it did, it took on a new meaning for me. So I started doing things around themes & things that meant something to me in some point in my life.
Now, some will never ever come to be because they just don't seem to work for whatever reason, but when one "pops" for me, it becomes reality.
The Sarge is my homage to the military service and I love military vehicles.
The Baroness, revolves around my love for certain types of aircraft. The Fokker Dr1 was unique and it may be for others as well. Forget the fact that it's some german thing idolized by people as being some fearsome aircraft (truth be known, it wasn't that plane that did all the killing anyway) it's just a neat thing I made my own.
Next we'll have the Tonka. It's literally built of pieces from my childhood. It will come soon enough.
The Bonneville Spirit... is built from parts of a boat, also part of my past and the #1 website/resource I put 15 years into (still running today)
So next we come to here, right now.
And where are we.
The Wachtmeister. German version of Sarge. It looks so neat and takes on just that look I wanted when you put the big ole wheels on the back. Heck, it'll need them if it's going to compete at all. So, some pics of that.
Then, the last part. Someone asked in another thread if building or driving was the best. While personally I love both, sometimes it's taking some rusty thing that looks shot and giving it new life.
See the nifty blue wheels at the bottom? It's sparked another idea.
This idea comes from my childhood too. It probably has some meaning for some of you as well. I owned a hot-wheel. It was unique and was the counterpart to a real ride that sported a unique name as well.
I won't tell you what it is but... let's see who can guess what I'm gonna do here.
Take a frame with a certain front end, combine it with another identical frame & front end... and you'll get this.
