Electric fuel pumps will also start whining prior to failure, in my experience. So sorry to hear that about your Mom. Hope she gets better soon.

Should be getting a call from her today at some point to pick her up. Just bruised up, nothing broken. Only way I could tell if it was the fuel pump, is if I or someone else was on the tank side. With the Mountaineer, they put the fuel tank on the passenger side, so even if I had my door open, I wouldn't be able to hear it.

Well she's not coming home today. Bit too dehydrated for the doctors to be comfortable to let her go home. But other than that she's doing well.

Well bit of an update, my mom is home from the hospital. Only kept her there for some dehydration and that's about it. The Mountaineer is doing good, but I'm a bit concerned. After I've been driving around a bit and I'm slowing down, the engine still wants to stay at a higher rpm than what I'd like, which has caused me to have to hold the brake pedal down further and longer, possibly eating up the pads and rotors more than normal. So say I'm in a parking lot and I'm just trying to drive slowly, if I let the vehicle idle along, it's at a higher idle speed than it should be, say about 1000-1200rpm is where it's at and it should be closer to 900 or a bit less. Same thing when im at a light, idles at 1000 or so and I have to hold the brake further just so I can stay still and not pull into the intersection. And when I first start up, it high idles at 2000rpm for 5 seconds and then tapers off to its 800-900rpm normal idle range.

I had a stick shift F150 with the 4.2 V6. It had a high idle problem.
Turned out it was the PCV valve "boot rubber connector thing".(What? those are legitimate terms) It had a hole, allowing extra air causing high idle. Cheap Easy fix.

Did you replace the pcv too or just the boot? I know pcv valves can increase oil consumption of the engine, as I've replaced one before. Truck was drinking a quart of oil every 500 miles instead of the normal 1000+ miles.

Both. I think it came together in a package, No oil consumption If I recall.
I think I only needed the boot though.

Well ....I was mowing the back yard and noticed ALL the peaches were gone off my tree!

I have an agreement with my neighbor...(who isn't home so I can check) ...that he can have all he wants. He picks them and gives them to a relative who makes peach cobbler and he brings me a little.

Now...he usually doesn't pick the ones in my backyard...(it's on my front fence) ...but whoever did this last time...did...and picked it clean then , too.

If I ever catch whoever is doing this....I will make them wish I had just shot them.

It's just SORRY!!!! I mean ...steal a few...even half...but every friggin one?

After I check with him....if he didn't take them....I'm gonna go buy some peaches and give them to him so I can get some cobbler!

How does one clear a whole tree though? I mean, my parents have an apple tree in the back yard, at the top it's probably 12'. Guess peach trees don't get that tall?

Well....there's a thunderstorm in the area, and my neighbor still wasn't home. I thought something must be up, because he left without saying anything.

I messaged him, and found out why. His son in law was killed in a bike accident and he is staying with his daughter.

Kinda makes peaches pretty insignificant.

Dang that really sucks. Finally cooled down up here, 72 out now. Saturday it was 94 with heat index of 102 with the 20+ mph winds. Wish it was raining here, hasn't rained much around here in a couple weeks. But when it has rained, it's either a sprinkle or heavy downpour for a few hours.

Yeah..I didn't really know her husband that well....but I watched her grow up from a toddler. Now her son is a toddler...with no dad.

To get the whole story, Google: "Trevor Gage".
