well, I loved the mac pros (past tense...)
and I loved my iPhone (I still would, but it's dead

),
it was much more reliable and functional than any Samsung I ever played with.
And frankly compatibility isn't much worse (you need to force root the samsung in order to have full control, as much as you need to jailbreak the iPhone [btw I didn't since I had no need to do that]).
You can't push just any data off any of the phones to another which is not the same brand.
I liked the appstore much better than the playstore, and that's basically it.
(mind you that choice was made 6 years ago!)
Just as with graphic cards such choice is close to religion ... I'd never touch ATI cards and some will never come close a GeForce.
Mostly prejudice or false premises..
But just like Linux vs windows or OS, you (we all) made the wrong choice.
Or are you running Linux?
I thought so.
We made a choice based on what seems to be comfortable and what enables us to use the apps (Software) we wanted.
The core of both phones is unix (android as well as ios)
one slightly modified and accessible like your common county prison,
the other heavily modified and accessible like fort knox.
And just to be clear, my sister's samsung force updated four times last year,
rendering her samsung gear watch useless everytime; up to a point where she ended up paying for that 'smartwatch' and it now is worthless to her (can't do what she wanted it to do anymore... don't ask.. some whatsapp stuff I didn't cared much about)
So yeah.. same shirt basically.
I'd still buy an iPhone (mainly because I spend ~300 bucks for ios software I intend to reuse instead of paying again for their android counterparts)
And again, there is not an App on any of the stores that's not on the other
(maybe by a different company or name.. but does the same stuff)
only difference -again- sometimes the ios version needs a jailbreak (i.e. it's on cydia not the appstore) when the android version is still working without root.
Then again.. there's antivirus for android (for a reason) but none for ios ...(same reason

)
Anywhoo, that more recent (i.e. ~8 years) update shennigans on f*
everything is driving me nuts.
Like Lemmings all the sheep update everything and do nothing but loose control...
and be happy about it.. dumbing the masses down.. good work!
And THAT is the cause of 99% of all computer troubles (including phones, tablets and the like)
Updates are made for ONE reason:
it ages your hardware faster; up to a point where you have to rebuy a new device.
This very computer I'm typing with was set up in
12/2001 (reinstalled in 2004 the last time)
and is running happily at almost the speed it had back then.
mainly because I never updated anything apart from my antivirus and a handfull of selected winxp hotfixes.
"New" software slows it down (requires more ram, more cpu..more everything),
and yes.. I have a newer one that's much better than this (drawing 3 times the power

)
Still this one works like a charm, so it's in use until it's taken by the great computer gods into the peaceful heaven it deserves.
