I just didn't think it was fair that only the old timers here should have to clean puke out of their keyboards.....

Sooooo.....to review: You newbies asked for it.....and for you guys that have been around: You should have known better than to look....

BTW: That pic is what spawned auto darkening welding hoods....(only the prototype worked in reverse).....

Today I was wondering... while walking around my mums newer car. all the body panels are steel... and there's very little gaps. I've always wondered when people say if an EMP or very large solar flare producing an EMP. would destroy all electronics in modern cars making them useless, but wouldn't the very large [and conductive] steel body actually just ground out all the electrical frying waves?

Also correct me if i'm wrong, but in order for an EMP to actually fry anything, doesn't it have to be on? So in theory couldn't you just kinda disconnect your car battery and no damage is done...?

I was also thinking about how easy it is to defeat FLIR imaging... wish I had access to a camera to see if raw fiber glass matting actually blocked the camera like regular glass panes do... [yeah the army/navy/airforces super duper high tech cameras gets defeated by some regular glass GO FIGURE...]

Hmm, I think it's more if the magnatic part of the emp that frys out electronics.

As far as them having to be "on" I don't know, but I don't think that would matter.

Take out your computers hard drive, and then put a big electro-magnet next to it...tell me if it works still when you put it back into your computer, and has all of the data on it still...

Everything electronic operates off of programming, even basic 1's and 0's held in say a bios chip. Iirc magnets erase this data, which is the problem with a big emp causing solar flare, or nuclear weapons that cause emp's. It doesn't fry the actual electronics as much as it erases all data/programming.

Now there are ways to shield those electronics in case of such an event, but it's expensive, and can be difficult. Plus there is a limit to how strong of an emp something can be shielded against I believe.

why can't they make gas-cans with stainless steel braided fill necks..? I mean they already make braided fuel lines! So tired of these plastic one's just breaking for no ****ed reason, and not even being the slightest bit flexible. and now the new ones have some sort of retarded child safety feature!

im totally looking for a new neck for my 2 older cans! [one's actually made by sears, and has a made in USA mark...] wonder how I could contact them to get a replacement neck for free. [assuming the thread pitch and cap size is standard. has a 1987 date on it.]

Yeah....totally retarded crap....there used to be a gasoline can manufacturer in Oklahoma.....some idiot poured gas on a fire...the can caught fire....(plastic) .....and he was badly burned.

The company was forced out of business putting many hard working folks out of a job....and forced the addition of the idiot proof crappy nozzle valves which I hate.

Basically my friend and I were going to go to the varsity football game tonight. Well my friend dipped on me to go with a different two friends. So I asked (politely) if I could still hitch a ride with them and we could all go. Well as it would have it one of the ones he was going with is or was a friend of mine. Well just last week he was over and riding my toys and having a good time and acted like everything was good. Well the next day he started talking all sorts of crap and just starting unnecessary drama. Well as it would have it, he doesn't want to give me a ride because "there isn't enough room." funny how a 2016 (he's spoiled too) jeep doesn't have more than 3 seats. He claims its dirty, I said clean it and he basically told me to F off and he was only my friend for my stuff. So basically one of my close friends flaked on me to go with him and basically I was blown off by the other "friend" too.

Oh well though. The dirt bike needs an oil change

Everyone's selfish to an extent. You've just gotta find the ones who have respect for others and the willpower to follow through with it. That goes for friends, employers, girlfriends, whatever.

Even the biggest #$(* on the planet will be a good person when it's convenient for them. It's when it's not convenient that you figure out who they really are.

There's a saying which I'm quite fond of:

A friend will help you move; a good friend will help you move A BODY...

I know a lot of people & have a large family (siblings, their spouse & offspring comes to just over 60) so, I have a lot of aquaintences but, I have very few people I consider "friends"... BY CHOICE! I tend to use the above saying as a form of gauge when deciding who my true friends are... (none of my family are in that group)...

One more thing: I've noticed that the more spoiled or "entitled" someone is, the more "flakey" they are; those who work hard for what they have tend to appreciate things &, therefore, people more than those who have everything handed to them...
