But since this thread asks the question. Today is beautiful here in So. Cal. perfect blue sky's and about 80 degrees with a slight breeze. Perfect weather for watching paint dry!

Had a filling fall out a couple weeks ago on a molar, I didnt think much of it until it woke me up one night pounding. So I get into to see the dentist today and she says we can pull it or root canal, root canal's aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be. I had the first part done and I head back in 2 weeks to get it finished.

Granted it still sucks but it dont hurt no more and that tooth will likely be in my head when im 6' under.

I had a root canal once; it started out as a filling which impacted on the nerve & ended up coming out after repeated abscesses... all in the space of a month...

Just the other night I was munching on a biscuit & CRACK! Haven't been to the dentist yet but, it seems I've split my first molar; thankfully, it only hurts when I eat...

Thanks...I'm feeling MUCH better...but now I'm battling high blood pressure...gotta get that figured out.....life is much, much, MUCH sweeter with healthy teeth.....(or at least some)........

Well yesterday started out pretty good....I went to Home Depot and found 100' of starter rope for $8.....Replaced the rope on the Toro and it started right up for a second or two with carb cleaner....I think it may need a new air cleaner......

After a quick rough clean with some Totally Awesome and a hose nozzle it looked a bit better.....I love that stuff....and it's only $1 a bottle! !!

The handle bolts were a mess.....in the pic of the carb the replacement bag is there by the carb....@ $4 at HD.... I also noticed one wing nut missing from where the handle breaks for folding....found a complete replacement package at Sutherlands for $3....I was doing a lot of quick stops at all the close stores on the slim outside chance they had a Tech primer bulb.....Noticed Wal-Mart had a filter for $8....but I'm holding off until it's running.....

Anyway....at about 2:40 I made it to the farm and ranch store where I knew they had one.....CLOSED!!!!! "Saturday hours 8:00-2:00...

BTW: Saw a Recycler 22 just like it at HD for $350.....

Well....had a pretty good day.....don't have a whole bunch of pictures to prove it, but I worked a lot on getting the garden ready for spring.....here's a shot of one of my weed filled beds....

So while pulling weeds....I came across these little hatchling Western Fence lizards....(one of my faves....) ....and it made my day to know that my little population is propogating.....

Finally.....this chipper shredder never moved from where it is....since I installed a HF wheel.....the thing went to crap anyway....

speaking of lizards and lawnmowers... i think i hit about 10 of them today mowing the lawn. stupid things ALWAYS run in the wrong direction. its like they all have death wises. kinda like when you walk across the sidewalk, they always run from one side where there's no bushes. to the side with bushes... I wouldn't of seen them if they just stayed still. seems kinda like Darwin needs to hurry up on the lizard population.

Well.,.Oscar just bit the heck out of me....stupid snake....a while back...I dropped a mouse in her cage....and she caught it in the air....well....she musta been pretty hungry....and went after the mouse while it was still in my hand....as soon as I opened her cage.....unfortunately....the little dummies aim was off a bit....and she thought for all the world....she had her a MOUSE!!!!!.....and a live one too!!!!....Seeing as it was trying to get away....

Had to pry her off me...purely a feeding misstep...she wouldn't hurt a fly...(maybe I ought to feed her more.....)

Well...pic #2 shows a little better how sure she was she had a mouse....she wasn't letting go........gotta love em...she's still hungry....roaming tjr cage...maybe I'll take her out and tie her in knots....

Ouch, that looks like it hurt. I definately think she needs to be fed a bit more if she is so eager to get to the food.

I did some research into snakes/lizards/spiders as pets when I was in highschool. but aren't you suppose to not associate the top of the cage opening, with feeding? that you're suppose to take them out, and put them into another cage, and feed them from that cage, and when they where done, to move them back over? I had a family friend who told me that about snakes. [also aquariums aren't for snakes... he was avid about that one.]

Well...there are two schools of thought on whether to feed in a separate cage or not. Those that endorse a separate cage say that it keeps them from associating any feeding or strike responses with the cage...

I started out doing that and only fed live mice to her...

The people that think that you should feed in the cage you house them in make the argument that handling the snake is stressful and it could even cause the snake to regurgitate...As you can see....handling Oscar doesn't stress her out much....I tied her in knots just a short time after she fed....The other argument that they make is that after feeding the snake is going to be in feeding mode and the likelihood of getting bitten when trying to take the snake out is greater than feeding in their normal vivarium ...

I noticed that somewhat in Oscar when taking her out of the feeding cage...I had to use a back scratcher or the lid as a shield when first grabbing her and she often rattled when I first grabbed her...

I now feed frozen mice...(thawed of course) ...and it's as much a matter of convenience for me as anything..(insert laziness here).....There have been times when she didn't eat in her home....but when I put her in the feeding cage, she did.....

A little while back...I dropped a mouse in her cage....and she caught it mid air....I really wasn't paying attention to her last night....I was grabbing mice and throwing them in and was looking at the mice I was going to grab next...the hand she bit was holding the lid up....

And BTW, it's not very painful at all....despite what it looks like....

Turns out it had a slight knock when I bought it a few months ago, the knock sensor picked it up but, I couldn't hear it (turns out my blind mother could though); long story short, the slight knock turned into a major knock, the engine still runs but it's really noisy...

I managed to find an identical car very cheap with 50,000 less K's & 4 months more registration on it (mine runs out in 2 weeks), now I just need to put all the good parts on the good car...

Sooooo.....working on putting siding on a concrete block house today....I found some snails.....

I got me curious about raising and eating them....so I started doing some research....and there is potential there for big money....

I also found out that raising them is extremely complex and almost uncharted water......Out of all the houses I've worked on.....I only know a couple that have populations....but they could be a good base to figure out how to raise these critters...as they are very closely related to the snails the Frenc prefer....and are getting desperate for.....

I may have to go to a species from another country in the interim.....

I wish....the info I've come across says how easily these things are stressed....and like I said....you can have hundreds of houses....and only one have a population....and next door.....either side....not a one.....very picky critters.....

Around here they seem to thrive like crazy in Iceplant. Then when it rains you will see literally hundreds of them out on the concrete. I know you like to garden so I don't think you would really want them around. I have a garden book on DIY chemical and poison free pest control titled "Dead snails leave no trails" they can be a real pest. Mostly just fun for little boys to freak out little girls.
