Yeah, Doug, we have way to many of those types of home's up here as well.

Did I forget to mention that the corporate headquarters for Amway worldwide is less than a 15 minute drive from where my family has been farmers for over 160 year's???

And so many of the top brass view farm's like ours to be a nuisance, because they can't dictate the view out their windows at a wim; it's seems to be a problem for them when people who actually own the land they live on refuse to obey bizarre "WTF?????" Dictates from some some :censored: that can't seem to grasp the concept of "If you want to control the view, you need to buy the view...."

So.. this day huh...

let me quote Faith No More lyrics...
"What a day if you can look it in the face and hold your vomit..."

So it all started well, I guess.
A new computer case arrived today (technically yesterday.. it's 7am ;))
And well it's h.u.g.e!
coolermaster printed a warning label to the box "carry with TWO persons"
as high as a dining table, over a foot wide and well nearly as long as it's tall.

So yeah, lucky me.. cosmos II is there... finally.

I was wondering about said warning label it's 'only' 25kg (~58lbs)
no need to find a second person to carry that, grabbed the handles and...
'Either I'm stronger than I thought...'.... lift some more...'Waaaaait a minute'
the cardboard box pulled right off the styrofoam base and the case itself..
it was open :mad: checked everything was still 'there' and 'Ah well ...who cares';
loose the box, grab the case, still being 22kg empty isn't bad, in fact it's okay to carry but not exactly something you'd bring to a LAN party; especially not 'filled', put it down again, and grabbed me some coffee.

That's when my sister came over
and her dog was toying around the house
(cute guy -a bit of a rascal-, but he's barely six months, so yeah..)
when suddenly she left with a filled cup of coffee within arms reach
(something that simply DOES NOT HAPPEN in my family!)
But frankly I didn't cared much...
I was making a mental list of parts to buy to complete the computer.
harddrives, PSU, graphicscard...done.
Oh sorry.. yes, maybe a headset, new display and webcam :lolgoku:
Anyways,
took my case and carried it upstairs to where it will wait for me to stuff it like a turkey.

Sat it down when I noticed that stench...
and here's where the "hold your vomit" comes in!

Her dog left me a :censored: "present" :censored:
It took over half an hour to have it removed from the carpet, my shoes (I was soooo glad I wasn't in socks!)
and guess what.. my brand new, just out of the box, computer case :ack2::ack2: :ack2::ack2:

Hopped under the shower and met with friends for a beer (or seven ;)) and a chat.

So yeah, I'm good again :D

:ack2: :ack2: Oh, man!!! That sucks big time!!! Can you salvage it, or is the dog now a soon to be gonner???? :surrender: :surrender:

Well as discusting as it was, the case stands on two rails, to allow airflow from beneath, so only one of those was affected.. luckily..
the next thing in line would have been a fan dust filter...
that would have been a real pain, and a totally different task to fullfill :(

It's my sis's responsibility to take him for a walk in time,
so I don't blame him, I blame her ;)

OK.....So...on the lawnmower....I was a little mistaken....I have used it before....and it is like a super vac.....but...I thought it was still being used by my neighbor......

So I crank on this thing a dozen times to no avail.....then I unscrew the gas cap and see it's empty.....

I put in some gas.....4 or 5 pulls....and it runs for 10 seconds.....so I do this a few times....and then pull the air filter.....start shooting a little car cleaner in there to reduce the amount of pulls....added a little lacquer thinner and Seafoam to the gas....and start it a couple of times every hour or so.....

So....then I start it up....and start feeding it shots of carb cleaner as it starts to die....and thumb choking it to put a vacuum on it......

After a while....it starts surge running....it runs for 10-15 seconds...but instead of dying...it catches at the last second....and then starts surging slowly less and less.... untill it's running steadily.....so maybe I won't have to clean the carb......

I also got the kart Tecumseh running....although it still has a slightly rough idle....

I see a V6 in your future, Doug. You're a creative guy, surely you can utilize those six cylinders from the mowers. Or maybe keep the good mower and make a 5 cylinder radial engine for the Fox II.

Maybe they're trying to tell you something :lolgoku:

Hopefully....I will have a bunch of mowers for sale this spring......

......or.........a six cylinder can crusher???????

:devil2: :devil2:   :funnypost:

I can't wait to see this; a six independent cylinder can crusher with a salvage wood structure..... Drywall screw's? Or finish brads?????

Actually....this is a little more closer to reality than it may appear on the surface.....I did indeed postulate a six cylinder can crusher in my head....basically based on a shotgun shell reloader....with six stations....each partially crushing the can...with a cam and cylinders...and the last one kicking it out and the first feeding....if you think about it.....much more leeway timewise to accomplish that....and less torque and power needed to crush......

I see where this is going: We will eventually have video of a 6 barrel minigun firing flat aluminum projectiles at a rate of 3600 "rounds" per minute. Great crowd control. I'm all for it.

Well.....nothing epic one way or the other......but.....file this under don't try this at home......

I supply my cupboard with restaurant take out cups....(heavy plastic) ......so....I sometimes make a breakfast shake: a banana...(not the green ones with yellow skin that too many people think is a banana......but one that has blackened skin....is a bit mushy and is delicious! !!!!).....and a half a can of sliced peaches, about a half cup of sugar, two large eggs, a tablespoon of vanilla extract, about 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and enough whole milk to fill the blender......

Soooo......I was drinking some this morning....and decided to wash it down with some tap water......Now....I keep a cup on a TV tray next to the recliner....but it was in the kitchen at the time.....so I grab the cup and take a gulp......and whoa!!!!!......memories of the public pool come flooding back!

I realize that this was a cup that had nasty stained gunk in it.....and I had filled half full of bleach and then filled with water to soak overnight......

Good news.....the bleach had worked....so the water was clean...but not very tasty....:lolgoku:....

The other good news is my hot sauce producing quest is going well.....I just realized I need to use some to make some "not so hot"wings.....

And.....I thought I was really losing it and going off the deep end.....until I just saw this episode of 'Cops Reloaded' a few minutes ago....where the stop a totally nude guy on a bicycle.....have him put on shorts.....and LET HIM GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm still trying to figure out which is crazier....the nekkid dude.....or the lax law enfarcers....

So then I figured....maybe I'm a little more normal than I thought....

(Usually....when I want to drive naked....I take the car....JK....)

Gonna be nice weather the next few days.....(our two weeks of winter hasn't quite got here yet.....although we got down to 26°f a month ago)....

Anyway....spring fever is setting in already....and I'm starting to get the gardening itch......

I am torn between that and other things I need to do....but....I think I will take at least a portion of today and work towards that.....

Gardening hasn't been too rewarding lately.....the area I live in has been in a 5 year drought.....and....call me crazy....but....spending a couple of hundred dollars on water to grow a few bucks worth of veggies just doesn't make sense to me.......

When the weather cooperates.....it's pretty cool....I've grown tons of stuff in a relatively small space.....but....last year....all I really harvested much of was okra.....(I let everything else go....except peppers and tomatoes...and they didn't do much despite a little additional water)....but....I think okra can grow in concrete in 120° weather....

So hope springs eternal.....So....I'm planning on planting....maybe this year will be worth it....(fingers crossed....).....

Well....along about Tuesday....my mom asked me to be a pall bearer at her brother's funeral.....

I agreed.....then Thursday...came down sick with flu like symptoms....I tried to back out...and I could almost see my mom tearing up over the phone.....(somethings..you can just sense)......she said "You have to".....

One of my concerns was....that it's not here....and a bunch of my immediate family and I will travel 6 hours together in the same vehicle to get there....

And.....then she dropped the bombshell....my service was requested by my uncle before his passing.....

Sooooo......the good news is.....I'm feeling better...and the funeral is Monday.....so I may be almost 100%....
