Seems as though its time to tear apart my Mickey Thompson mini bike..

Its been looking at me in shambles all summer. I got it and a 5 hp powersport for $50.00 and I couldn't pass it up.

New bearings all around,Predator motor, sanding and paint is in order.

May have to setup a tarp spray booth for the winter..

You guys know my transmission has been screwed up for a while.... I bought another Tahoe 3 weeks ago..... Transmission went completely out, without any notice........ Now I got 2 Tahoe's in my driveway with a gimped trans and a broken trans.......
Maybe I should go back to dodge.........

My Tahoe has 280K miles on it and the trans/motor is strong like bull..

You gonna get a boneyard trans and swap it out? Do them both and sell one to recoup the expenses. 1st one would take you a day and the 2nd one you could cut the time way down due to doin it once already..

Probably try fixin the gimped one myself. The one in the black Tahoe will probably get rebuilt.I used to work in a transmission shop, when I was 19, as an R&R guy. (remove replace...) I don't miss it.....
Both engines are strong as heck. Less than 190,000 on both of them. Tan one is a 99 lt and the black one is a 97 ls....

I finally finished up a house project (make the wife happy). About to finish up some floor pans in a friend's 68 Cougar (earn some spending cash). Was just thinking last weekend that I can finally get back to my own projects... including buying some parts for the go kart....

Then my Kubota dumps hydraulic fluid in the front yard...it's a zero turn radius mower. Wheels don't roll freely... quick read through the manual and couldn't figure out a "neutral"... There's got to be a way to disengage it?

So it took over two hours just to get it back to the shop. Only chart with pneumatic tires (that would roll easily thru the yard) had the caddy body on it, so had to block it up in order to drag it out. Then use an engine lift to get the cart under the rear axle, just so I could towed it with the neighbor's golf cart back to the shop.

Haven't got to seeing what it is yet... but with my luck it won't be a cheap fix.

Jim, you just got hit with the fact that modern computer controlled transmissions can compensate for so much that you almost need to have the computer'smemory down loaded to find out just what shape it's in. And the used car dealership's and underhanded private seller's know all the tricks. Such as dropping the pan and changing the filter, and doing a total flush of the transmission, topping it off by clearing any and all trouble code's. My Dad was a victim of that when he bought the '95 Chevy work truck I'm now driving, which turned what he thought would be a decent $3500 truck into a rather dear $5000 truck........

On the silver lining side of things, after he parked it in the weeds three years ago, all it needed to become my new daily driver was a battery, new ignition switch, some brake line repairs and a set of used but decent front tires to get it on the road again. Add in the oil change and so far, so good.

should buy your self a toyota landcruiser or nissan patrol

if u guys even get them
1 million km isnt uncommon
u dont even think about the km till 500 thousand

but they're good old manual trans and ve pump turbo deisels

as long as u have fuel and compression u have go
no computers and only 1 clutch to worry about

my newer v8 cruiser is the exception
being common rail

but 230 k
time for a new clutch
proberbly shouldnt have chipped it
putting 700lbft of torque though a standard clutch wasnt smart

only a 2hr job for a clutch though
