Well....it's Friday, and the Blue Angels are putting the finishing touches on their routine....they've been practicing since 8 O'clock this morning.

They are REALLY starting to buzz the house now, flying lower and faster....and rattling the windows!

When they really fly by fast...you don't hear the engine, just a phewwww.....and they're gone!!!!

I practiced shooting video yesterday, before it's all over, I'll shoot a bit, but posting it here is hard....

May try to shoot some more pictures, (tough as that is)....and what's tough is...in the pictures, it looks like they're far away, but in real life...if they weren't going so fast, I could read the ejection warning on the side of the cockpit!

A few years back, a C-10 was looping around to gain altitude, and my ex wife waved to the pilot....and he waved back!

Unfortunately, the trees around here have gotten much taller and bigger ....so they not only block some of the view, but I believe the planes are flying higher!

I was out yesterday about this time when they called it a day ....and all of them flew low ...(and fairly slow) ...but Today, they came from the opposite direction, and .....(my phone camera didn't used to do this.)...BUT IT LOADS THE PIC on the screen ....and you can't snap ANOTHER PIC....and I missed the first plane!!!!!

......and watched the other five fly right over me....HELPLESS! !!!!

Well....I went into settings....ditched the auto-review....and set on multi shutter...(where it takes 6 pictures in succession) ....so maybe I can get some pics tomorrow!

Now we do not live real near the base. But when they have the air show at Miramar. We see them flying by constantly. We are about 10-15 Miles as the Jet flys from the base. But i guess at 600 or whatever MPH, They are over our house before you know it.

Yeah....I'm less than 1/4 mile from the runways....so you can imagine.....

EDIT : The thing is....the runways run north and south....sooooo....normal flights, I barely notice take-offs and landings...it's only when the fighter jets are hot-dogging (occasionally) ...or air shows that I really hear them much ...because I live to the west of the runways!

I'm actually just a little torn between watching the Valero Texas Open in my hometown of San Antonio.....or the Blue Angels....but I'm sure once I hear them, I'll be outside!!!!!

Outta be pretty soon....actually, I may have just heard them taking off....(it's not easy for me to hear anything taking off....because I'm west of the runway and they are north and south oriented) .....but I just heard an AIRPLANE.....sooooo.....not yet!!!!

Well....In the pictures....some of those you see that just look like smoke trails with dots....you can actually see the planes very well with the naked eye....

So then you can kinda see, the ones that appear in the pictures are actually quite close....

And the ones you can clearly see...(in real life
...look like they're only 20 yards away....(and might be) but probably a couple of hundred....(STILL....they're CLOSE! )

Soooo...To put this in perspective, the first pic....(with the same zoom and all)....the Ford pickup on the left is only 4 doors away.....in the second, two more....and in the third....two more!!!!

EDIT: OH WAIT! !! I think I know what you're talking about! ...Yeah....sometimes it takes me five or six tries to load pics....and it only gets worse when there are multiple ones......

Soooo.....I will load one, then go back and edit to add another....ect....Jeeze....control the OCD...it takes a lot less time for me that way!!!!! (All you have to do is wait!)

WAIT!!!!NOOOOOO!!!!! I don't mind if I go out hairless, toothless , and helpless....(like I was born...) but....NOT a FLIP PHONE!

Good googly moo...I didn't even realize I had only had that phone and been online for a couple of weeks when I joined....that paticular Samsung Galaxy was a POS, but I replaced it with one that worked in a month....(same phone)...

There was still one thing that drove me absolutely crazy about that phone ..... I could type out a two page post, hit backspace, and suddenly, I had a two word post ....with no way to retrieve the rest of the post!!!! The worst thing about this phone...(I won't go into ALL the things it screws me with) ...is trying to load pictures....(it actually has gotten worse) ....sometimes I have to go through the process 6 or7 times....I have easily spent 1/2 an hour more than once trying to load pictures....(Hence why sometimes I edit or make multiple posts) ....
