I like Paint With Pearl’s, pearl colors better. You can do so much with a nice pearl.
I had to look it up, yea, adding pearl would be a great idea:

"Pearlescent paints incorporate shiny ceramic crystals (known as mica crystals) into the paint mixture. These crystals give the paint its namesake pearl-like effect. Like pearls, vehicles with pearlescent paint tend to 'glow' and shift colours under different types of light and the angle at which the car is viewed."

Thats what I am going for.

Took a few day break to beef up the firebox on the crazy little smoker I built. Fits 2 pork butts perfectly. About 50% scrap metal on this one, all steel. I think ill name it the "Mmm-60". Im going to put a 2" male reciever on it so it can be mounted to the dune buggy front bumper, or the back of my truck or van. The smoke stack is a multi port tocket stove, but could be used for low temp smokeing. The flat section of square tube just after the firebox fits an 8" cast iron squarly on top. Knife handle on the lower firebox opening was a knife I got as a kid from a buddy who died look last year. Cheers to tasty food!

One of the reasons I jumped into building this was to learn new tools/skills outside of what my firmer understanding was. A great example is this "Rivnut setter", what a cool tool with huge potential for multiple aplications. Essentially a threaded rivet-sleeve with little grabber teeth that bite into the metal. Allows you to thread bolts with torque into blind holes of thin walled steel/aluminum.

In hindsight, I should have used this with the pillow block bearings for my steering. I started to weld the CAST steel pillow block bearings for my jackshaft, but the tack welds broke off too easily, which made me go this route. A big plus is that the M10 bolts I used have a little bit of play in the 1/2" bearing opening that helps to align everything before torquing down.

Also shown is the 3.25 gallon fuel tank I am going with, Aluminum. I was going to go with steel, but I have had multiple motorcycles with steel tanks gum up carbs from rusting internals. I also opted for no fuel float valve as I have had those corrode and gum up carbs too! Simple with no rust.

I’m not a big fan of riv-nuts. I’ve had them both pull out on me or start spinning when I go to loosen the bolts or screws and then you play hello trying to get them out. Alcohol will corrode aluminum too! Plastic is the only way to go!
Looks great otherwise!

I was worried about them spinning too, but it works so far. I actually made the holes slightly oblong with the 1/2" drill bit to (O.D. of rivnut was 0.507"), to help resist the ability to spin in place. If they do spin, ill just tac weld them in place.

3.25 gallon tank installed. I put it on the outside to keep it away from the enginrme and to save space in the mini bed.

A few updates:

-I got both 5-point harnesses installed. Due to a different discussion I saw on here with different opinions on mounting locations, I decided to hunt for an official mounting guide, and found a pretty good one, see below.

-I also got a little more support built into the rear swingarm via a horizontal tube. It will also help in partially keeping the lower part of the sprocket safe.

-The last big items needed are a larger dia single hydraulic disc brake setup, an "e-brake" setup (likely will be a mechanical setup with a cable), pedals, electrical, and a few other things. Right now breaks are my primary focus, but I still need to order parts.
