it's just AWESOME!
As I mentioned earlier I'm not a big fan of war machinery at all..
and everything with a military theme behind it isn't actually my thing.

Then I saw your mini jeep and really, I was just stunned;
craftmanship at it's finest... I'd call it ART.

And then you came up with this idea and
although I like tracked vehicles I don't like tanks very much...
but with every set of pictures I've seen it grew on me.
Again incredible work, very nice details and all the time, love and effort you put into this.

Testosterone and steel *GRUNT*...

LOVE IT!

Thanks Sid Im kinda with you there. Iv never really been into tanks or military stuff either but I wanted to build something with tracks for years. all my ideas just didnt seem worth the work. Then I saw the Goliath tanks and I knew thats what i should build. And im into old jeeps so they go hand in hand with military stuff so thats what i end up with and Im happy to have it that way. Gives the stuff a little more purpose and some history to it instead of just a cool toy.
Anyway since I never actually tried on the tracks after i shortend them they ended up being a little tight so I had to redrill the holes for the back axle about 1/2" forward. No big deal and I kinda expected it. I used a jack to get the tension where i wanted it and drilled the holes. then did the fine adjustment with the top rear rollers. But it looks good and im working on the second side now. then ill probrobly test drive it and see if it falls to pieces

it actually looks kinda cute with the froggy headlights :D

I soooo want to see a video of it driving around.

Oh would you mind to park the jeep right next to it instead of the mini bike for one picture? ...that way it'll look HUGE! :D

Dam that's amazing. If you don't win the omb build off someone is going to have to check to see if there heads are screwed on right!

I like how you've put the chassis together, and I'm 90+% certain the tracks will work as planned. What has me on the fence is the drive train.

I really hope things work the way you want; it's just that when I look at the off road tractor forums they all list the frailties of these transaxles...:surrender:

I'm with machinist here
I hope the trans holds up p

Iv never seen such a simple track design for DIY
Looks like they're tough as well

I like the tensioner
Pretty much how the real thing works

Just not over tighten them
Tracks like a bit of slack
Makes turning easier

I love the attention to detail
Again
A very well put together build
Definitely need a photo of the jeep with the tank
Rekon it's in contention for a website home page picture

 Glad you all like it ! Its good to know iv got plenty of spectators  The test drive was kind of a failure but I did make it across the yard. Then a track jumped the rollers and things went crunch. I didnt expect that to be a problem and im not sure what im going to do about it. Probrobly have to add some guides maybe  not sure yet. More work to do :grind:

Good to see it's working

Was it the lower rollers that jumped?

I'd say u need some springs to prevent too much artic out if the mayor boggies
Look at the original design
Most track machines have little to no movement in the boggies
And the ones that do have a more active track tension system
Most tracks just have a big spring to keep tension

U may need more edge on the rollers

Great..
stering seems to work pretty well, as does fwd/rev obviously.

I expected much more noise from the tracks on the concrete floor. ;)
So that's great too :D

I think you should loosen the tracks by a hair,
they seem to be a bit sticky to the wheels.

Watched the video now about 50 times, Learning from your mistakes so my tracked vehicle doesn't have same issues. 1. double drive spikes per track instead of single like you have. 2. Tensioned track so that it won't slide off and 3. My engine won't work so I'm making deal for a 2.0 litre vw engine out of the upstairs neighbors vw jetta scrap car out front. have engine transmission and axles complete as one unit, should save me some time and room. TOP speed expected to be 100 MILE PER HOUR PLUS, Hope my tracks can hold up to the stress. Plus with all the power I don't have to worry about weight so much anymore.
