If you look at Fig 2, you'll see the hole that's drilled in the forks. It's 1/2". Then when I made the frame, the fork to frame tube is welded to that. You can see that by itself in fig 1 from

That little neck tube thing (heck, i forget what you call it) is tube, not pipe, and has an inside diameter of just over 1/2". I want to say it's 3/4" tube, but don't hold me to that. I'll have to go out to the garage and find out later.
Then, a 1/2" bolt is used to complete the connection, in figs 6-7 on page

It works pretty well, too. That's the same method that is used to make the go kart spindles.
