The twin pipes is a little extreme, one of those would be fine. As far as the world of all out power straight pipe exhausts are the way to go, if you want it to be quiet you can make a nice can for the end. If you dont want to cut the one off your stock muffler, trace it onto a piece of cardboard then cut it out, trace it onto a piece of steel of the same thickness (or atleast close to) of your stock one. Then simply cut it out of the steel with whatever you can, cutting torches are best but a hacksaw and an angle grinder/drill works good.

A jigsaw with a good metal blade would work. By extreme, i mean its just such a large pipe, that two wont be any better than one and it just takes up space. For tubing i'd get something similar to what the stock exhaust uses, but a little bigger.

yeah, we have good metal blades, which i used to cut my floor with.

would a twin exhaust be louder? i want something loud enough to sound good, but not so loud i need earmuffs

ok, so about 25-30mm pipe would work?

thanks for the help btw!

Yea, 25mm would be min...and two pipes may be louder, you would have to experiment with different setups.

Those are a bit small, it could work just drill quite a few holes in it so it doesn't restrict flow too much. A can of 99 cent spray paint works good, just make sure you use all the paint before you try to pry it open.

I really wish i could get pics to my computer so i could show you how i did it.

i have a can of unwanted spray paint that my mum chucked out and i rescued it, i would have to empty it first tho, as it is quite full. would you put it in the middle of the exhaust, or at the end?
also i have a 30mm holesaw, which i could cut a hole in it with.

Putting it at the end would give a different sound than if you put it in the middle, its up to u. I've done both, i made a 2 stroke expansion pipe out of one once, and that sounded good but had too much backpressure, i personally like the sound of the end, plus then it is much sturdier.

Use a old VW resonator and weld it on to your straight pipe. Works good.

Does it sound nice with a vw resonator? i've seen car mufflers that are gutted used on go karts and it made a nice harley sound (that was a 16 horse v twin tho).

It's not bad but it's cheap and it muffles that straight pipe bark.

sorry for the dumb question, but whats a resonator?

what would happen if you drilled holes in the exhaust?

and finally if i used a paint can at the end, would the hole a the very end of the exhaust want to be the whole end of the paint can, or just 30mm?
thanks

i now have the seat and harness, so i am going to try and mount both 2morrow!

so would a paint can at the end work to quieten the exhaust a bit? or would it just sound different?

paint cans soften it a bit, what i did was punch a ton of holes in the end of the can that the exhaust comes out of. Also drilling holes in the exhaust pipe will make it much louder.

nope, just drill a hole the right size in the can and hold it on somehow, i used some springs but if you have access to a really light mig welder that can weld stuff that thin thats best.

ok, we dont have a mig welder, we have an arc welder, so mabie if i used tube instead of the can, which would be thicker, it might work better? like a normal 2 stage header like tylers(but obviously no where near as good!)
