I'm so jealous - been trying to start since Sept/Oct 2008 just have a lot to do at this stage.

One final project to get out of the garage/workshop then I'm ready.

Keep the pics coming.

Everybody dopes it differently; are you running your motor governed? I found it easier to set up a linkage without the gov, but it's personal preference. I took the stock air filter and box off, and ran a tube to the air filter in a different location. The space left over on the black plastic that the stock filter rests on was then taken up by a bowden cable housing (bicycle brake cable) and araldited in. I then screwed an eye hook (which was spring loaded to shoot back to idle) into the butterfly and ran the cable through the hole, then through the cable housing. This ran to a the top of a spring loaded lever, which doubles cable pull from the pedal. The bottom half of the lever has a cable that then goes to the top of my accelerator pedal. If you need pics, pics I can provide.

what gearing yould you reccomend. i have to have a 16t #219 clutch though. also, how big would an 80t #219 sprocket be?

i would use a jack shaft then run 35 or 40 pitch chain to the Axel

small pitch chain is harder to get lined up right and has to be tighter not to fall off

thanks, but i dont want to get too complicated, as it is my first kart, and as i said i can only get a 16t #219 clutch for my 20mm shaft and No i am not tuning down, knowing me i will mess it up
