Does your belt have any numbers left on it?

Also use a tape measure and measure across the big one and tell us how big it is, this is the stuff you need to know when ordering belts.

Remember what I said, don't go by the numbers stamped on the clutch, it's about the angle of the dangle when it comes to 20 and 30 series clutches, clean yours, get a brass sleeve, and let's get a belt

So it’s a 30 and after I clean it up what belt to get. I’m going to move the engine around to adjust tension. What belt do you suggest? I’m doing the heavy cleaning tonight, I’m at Home Depot as we speak

Well, I got mine from gopowersports, but I got an entire kit because my kart didn't have anything on it and I had to replace all of it...wasn't particularly cheap because I got the 7 inch clutch like it came with from the factory. Thats why I said to measure it. if it's a 6 inch clutch it will use a different belt.

As far as buying particular parts I really don't like to give advice very much on that. I kinda shy away from telling people how to spend their money. I might supply multiple suggestions but it's just a decision I try not to make for others. I don't mind helping to give repair or fix it advice, just not money advice...unless something is a ripoff and I know it...I will speak then...

Unless it's hot wings...buy them all and send me what you cant finish

So I bought a steel brush for my grinder as well. That crazy thing about it is when I had the other belt on the cart it performed until it ripped. But I’m hype to get this all done. I hate that paint it was a dumb decision but if I can save these parts I’ll appreciate it more.

Ok, 7 inches is exactly what it came with. You may have factory clutches on that thing dude! Comet parts are expensive. That's why Hellion and I suggest you save them. Many feel they are superior to the Chinese parts. I don't know. I personally don't have enough experience to be a judge on that. So go back and examine the pics of my kart closely, the numbers of the belt are in plain view. I got it from gopowersports.

Probably wouldn't hurt to replace the spring but just call those guys and tell them exactly what you have so you get the right spring. As far as buttons they are cheap enough I guess. It's up to you but if it was me if they aren't missing I wouldn't get carried away with it. You only need them on the contact side anyway...so let that sink in. But if you want a bag of spares...I get it.

Ask them for a 30 series belt designed to run on a 7 inch clutch setup... I'll see if I can find it.

Here is a stage 1 kit for your engine with the 18 lb valve springs...select the option for the springs, you'll want these if you have someone that is mechanical minded to install them for you

If you decide to get more in depth with engine work I suggest you either take some classes or take it to a shop as any further modifications will get beyond your current skillset...no offense.

Actually there's a lot I won't tackle at home simply because I just don't own the tools and equipment to do so. And you'll find most people don't. It's been over 30 years since I've done a proper valve job. I don't have a turner. Or a milling machine, or a large, or any of the other required industrial equipment needed to do even basic engine Machinist work. I'd never do enough to justify borrowing money to buy any either...

But anyway,

Normally I'd say no, but it looks like all 4 wheel hubs are there, it has its steering wheel and it's live axle too.

Offer him $20 (in person) or as low as you can get away with.

No seat or seat frame at all!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Those aren't my thing.

You're gonna have to make a seat and seat frame.

But it does have hubs.

Tires and rims are gonna set you back a good bit and you know how much an engine will cost.

it's probably gonna need brake work and cables. and who knows what else along the way.

The frame looks solid from the pic. So it's your call.

Yea I took the family down to Ft. Walton Beach last night to see fireworks on the water.

Wife is at work today and I go back tomorrow. So it's kinda messed up. Long story on the boat. The older I get the more I don't like messing with it. Everyone wants to ride but nobody wants to help before or after. It's just a chore for me and I don't like it. Days of preparation for a long drive to spend a couple hours on the water to see a few minutes of fireworks. But they liked it I guess. That's what my wife wanted. I think I'm gonna go take a nap.

That sheave has some serious pitting. You got anything on the order of maybe some 400 grit sandpaper to kinda smooth it out some? May need to ask some of the other guys what they think about that thing. I've never ran one in that condition. So I don't have any experience with it. I think it will be ok but I don't know for sure. Hellion may know if it'll be ok or not.

That clutch is going to be useless on that Murray. Even if you do get it to work it will either have to be geared really low to work and it will barely move or your just gonna burn it up as soon as the engine spools up. It won't turn those big tires.

Stay with the torque converter and stop trying to reinvent the wheel...Fred Flintstone got it right the first time.

That TC sheave is toast!!! The pitting is just going to rip through belts. It has to be as smooth as possible. I have no idea if sandpaper will help, but as it stands at the moment you are just going to be throwing money away by premature belt wear

Like Wes says, that centrifugal clutch is going to be useless for you unless you gear your kart a LOT lower. This is the single biggest mistake people make when they get a kart and the TC has problems. They decide to get a CC and just do a swap instead of spending the extra money and getting a working TC. You are just going to fry the clutch
