The damm damper dampens more when turning left then it dampens when turning right.
I’m currently using the hole that was already in the Trip Tree Plate. Maybe I’ll have to play around with angles. Not sure I can accept that I have to turn harder left than right.
Not everything has to be symmetrical, but Steering should be right?

Do I dare dual damper? OK, everything should always be symmetrical. Everything. Always.

I was getting ready to say I had the exact same one at first and it did the same thing but I figured it was a dud............. guess not. Lol

I eventually went to the shindy brand one and it was good after that.

The cheap ones have the side knobs and don’t regulate evenly. The ones like a shindy have the knob on the end of the shaft which work flawlessly but obdviously cost more. Like a $100 or so.

I'm not very happy with the clamp I got either. It seems to clamp strong, but the pivoting pin falls out very easily when I'm making adjustments. Hope it holds when clamped and dealing with engine vibrations. It was $22.

Still $50 more for a double cheap damper setup (if I get the same clamp and damper), or $113 more for a decent damper. It's cheaper to try throwing good $$$ after bad.

Thanks for the input. I probably would have messed with it for hours and drilled holes until I needed new forks.

They want me to keep the product, accept $5, and resell the junk. LOL

I'll take the $5. Still Not sure If I should get another one or just pay for the quality one.

Well my mood turned when they told me they want positive feedback in exchange for my $5 Refund.

No way I'm paying $25 shipped (after refund) for a product that doesn't work and giving positive feedback. They must have lost their minds.

EDIT:
So now they sent the first message again, Asking for pics and if I used the mounting kit.

Here is my reply..

Yes I ordered and received the damper. It doesn't work properly. I sent the pictures of it installed. You received the pictures already. You verified that there is no kit for this UNIVERSAL damper to fit my make and model.
It is a 2017 El Lobo Mini Bike from MiniChoppersSoCal.com
You offered a $5 Refund in exchange for POSITIVE Feedback.
I WILL NOT give positive feedback after being asked to pay $25 for a product that DOES NOT WORK. The refund only covers the cost of shipping.
You want positive feedback after I paid $25 for something I cannot use??? Sorry, I cannot do that.

I will give positive feedback ONLY if you offer a FULL refund, or send me another one that works properly.

WHITE SETTLEMENT
Once I found a nailgun on Fleabay. It was Friday afternoon on a 4th of July weekend. It was supposed to be open hours for the seller. I messaged asking if it was available for local pick-up. No answer.

The auction was ending so I bid. I won, but the seller refused local pick-up. With shipping, it wasn't any better, (and maybe worse) of a deal than I could get from any pawn shop. I told the seller I wasn't going through with the deal if I had to pay shipping. He threatened to report me.

So I just bought the thing, and left him bad feedback. He had the nerve to contact me crying; "Why did you leave me bad feedback?"

So I broke down and order a second crap damper.

2 crap steering dampers hopefully equals 1 decent one.
I did get a $5 refund. I did not give positive feedback. They remembered that I had issues with the last one and made sure I wanted a second before shipping.

The P-clamps I used cost almost as much as the damper.
Kuryakyn 4018 Chrome 7/8" - 1" P-Clamp

I picked up some mounting hardware too.

For my install, for each damper I used...
5/16- 18 (2” long - full threaded)
5/16 -18 (1.5” Long)
(4) 5/16 - 18 nuts
(2) 5/16 Flat washers

Well did it work or nah ? And I might have a good one laying around that needs a bracket and a bad one that you could make one good one with. They are rebuildable and the exact one in the pics you posted. #382 above FYI.

Seems to work great.
I didn't take it out for a ride, but turning the handle bars inside the garage seemed much better.

Came across an OMB thread from like 5 years ago. McKutzy asks about a damper similar to the ones I used. He specificly asks if you need one or two. I SAY TWO!!! LOL

It was a drag bike build...
Why would you set up the trail like that on a drag bike?
Seems like if you are only going in a straight line, then you would want a lot of trail.

I'm sure with those forks the way the they were (close to zero trail), I'd buy a stabilizer too, maybe 4. LOL
Or maybe just turn them around?

I added a damper without any problems... Hopefully you figure it out.

I think it was just the particular cheap Chinese ones I got. For what ever reason, it was much easier to turn the bars in one direction than the other. Joe-405 had a similar issue.

It’s fine with two of them on there now, but I’m not thrilled about how busy the front looks with two of them. Thought it might look cool, but not so much. It is functional and I don't hate the looks enough to change it. I can learn to like it.
