Going to try to get some 60' times in the drive way.
I don't know anything about drag racing.
What is good in a car? 1 sec? 2 sec?
So I guess 1 sec is my goal 60' goal?
Hopefully this set up gets me a good launch.

I think I can keep the front down if I'm sitting on the edge of my seat. Now you stay on the edge of your seats and together we can get this going.

EDIT: Last time I tried this app (old bike), I was getting around 2 - 2.5seconds for my 60' time.
I'll be happy with 2 seconds or less, but not sure how accurate this GPS app is for 60' times.

A 2004 Suzuki Motorcycle Gsxr 750 says 1.42 seconds for 60'

That's essentially going 41 mph instantly. How is that possible?

AHHH, 60 ft / second = 41mph.

I know I can’t get 60’ in 1 sec.
I’ll set unobtainable goals. Repeated Failure leads to more risky behavior, which I’m all for.

Mag Lev Mini Bike!

My last mini took ~6 or 7 seconds to get to 40mph.

From brake to WOT pulls crazy wheelies.
Need to learn the proper throttle roll if going to drag.

Not really tuning for a set distance, but want to learn about gearing for drag racing. 60’ Times seem to be most dependent on whether or not I Wheelie... So probably want different gearing, but maybe it’ll be faster in a race (more than 60’) with this gearing and some throttle control.

This app is probably not good for 60' times, BTW.

This is the stuff I love!!!

Right now...

I don't want wheelie bars. It takes the fun out of it, for a fun bike, as far as I'm concerned.
I think there are some classes of minibike drag races that don't allow wheelie bars? I don't know??? If I was building a dedicated drag bike for races that allowed them, I would add them.

Swing Arm? See the picture. If I'm on the back of the seat, the wheel is almost in front of me
With my long seat, I can sit about here.

Ok then. Sit on the tank for launch.

My tank is behind my seat.:surrender::(

I realize I didn't build a drag bike.
BUT I want to learn about drag racing and see what I can get out of what I have.

I didn't build a stop and go neighborhood bike.
BUT that is how it will be used the majority of the time.

I built a bike for cruising along at like 50mph.
BUT I have no where to drive like that.

My bike has no identity.

I'm still unsure of the stability at higher speeds (looking into a damper).
It is tall and the engine is raised two inches. COG is probably higher than most minis.
I LOVE the size of it. It fits me perfect. Wouldn't want anything smaller, unless strictly for racing.

Light and Battery.

Going to test this Light and Battery out.
Battery has on/off switch.
18 gauge wire should be fine for 12V / 2.25A at less than 10'

This light was $8 shipped.

2.25 Amps at 12V
Looks like 9 3watt LEDs. Not sure how bright it will be???
1600 lumens is like a 100W incandescent.
Enough so I am seen at night? It is dark at like 5:30 now. I know I'll be heard, I'd like to be seen too. LOL Maybe see some potholes?

This battery was $30 shipped. Should power my 27 watt light for a few hours.
I paid A Buck . 38 for a 3 year replacement plan. Who wouldn't buy a three year batter replacement plan for a dollar?

Seems like the steering damper went West from China, instead of East. Seems like East would be faster. It's in Germany now.

I wanted to mount the damper before the light. This may take a while.
The $22 motorcycle clamp seems like a decent clamp. Not sure if $22 decent? But should secure the damper to the frame. Not exactly sure the best place for the damper. After I figure that out, I'll pick a spot for the light. Thinking the engine top plate is where I want to put the battery for the light. It stays pretty cool there and fits perfectly.
