Also Waaaay back in 1913 before cars (for the most part) The hottest temp ever recorded on earth was 134° in Death Valley. It has not been that hot there again yet. This "warming" thing sure does work slow!

I would question the accuracy of any measurement taken when most people still pooped outside.

Thanks for bringing that up. That was my next point. Who is to say how hot it was 100, 200 or 800 years ago. It is NOT warming!!! This is just a normal weather cycle. Just roll with the ebb and flow of nature.

Just like who the heck knows if there were earthquakes in Oklahoma before 1850. I do not think the native americans kept record of Seismic Activity

I've had many conversations with my 85yo mother who remembers one or two summers & winters that were extreme but, not that different to todays extremes...

"Global warming" indicates a condition where, overall, global conditions are changing; the most common part is the melting of the polar caps, causing ocean levels to rise; this is not unheard of, nor has it never occurred before, the earth has been undergoing changes for ever (has anyone ever hears of the ice age?) & will continue to change forever, not because we are changing it but, just because that's what happens...

So, global warming? Maybe. Climate change? Not to any measurable extent...

Just my 2 cents...

where's the radio repair man? What about the vacuum repairman?
When the rebuild kit for an alternator plus labor cost more then a new one where's the benifits.
It really come down to labor cost. Years ago labor cost were low and parts were high. Now parts are low and mass produced but labor is high. $15 unskilled minimun wage doesnt buy much anymore.

That's exactly the point being made here, it's cheaper to replace than repair but, most people go overboard; what ever happened to sentimental value?

Case in point: I recently had an argument with a friend; I was explaining that I had to borrow money but, still didn't have enough to cover what I needed; the first thing out of her mouth was "sell your go kart"; not just no but H.E.L.L. NO but, I couldn't explain to her why not, not through lack of trying...

Yeah, I've bought/acquired items, fixed & sold for a profit but, my kart isn't going anywhere except with me; when I was evicted 6 months ago, my kart was one of the first things on the trailer; when I relocated to Queensland, again, my kart was one of the first things on the trailer; meanwhile, almost all of my furniture & most of my large tools & equipment (apart from my mowing equipment) is still in Sydney...
