Plan "C"

Fresh off the welding bench. Repainted, Sprockets on, Ready for mounting. Thanks again chancer. Most of my go-karts have been one leggers.. my mind was pre-programmed to the disposable hub .

Progress report

Drive wheel installed. All guide disk welded to hubs and installed, idler wheels on, engine mount area welded. Primed ready for engine mount plate, one side of the deck mounting tabs welded on.

Are you using a Jack shaft?
Isn't that backwards?
Engine PTO is on the Left side.
Your Drive sprocket and engine mounts are on the Right side.

I was joking.. I painted the top and sides then flipped it over to paint the bottom it's upside down now.

Great find, I see a trip to the junk yard is in order.

Edit of drive ratio. 54 t sprocket , 10 t clutch 10.25 tire, 5.4 ratio. Top speed of 20 mph ish.

Cruise control, brake lever and kill switch

Not much for an update. This is a home depot door bell button it fits perfectly in a 1/2" iron pipe. I thought the spark may jump across the screws so I soldiered the wires . Then wrapped the terminals with tape to insulate them from the pipe. Then put it all together.

pretty smart, I never considered a grip like that for cruise control

There's not a lot of driving to do on a rail kart.. This will free up my hands for better things.

No real updates I have the foam and boards for the seats but I'm not sure what I'm going to use for the pan. I've acquired a few more of the little bits and pieces.

No sail foam.. The new guy in the house on the hill is going to eliminate the free sail foams. . I got curb foam ... Its from a couch I found on the curb... Its missing the back cushions now.
