Hey Bob,

I can't tell from the pics
...but, is the caliper housing being clamped/smashed against the trailing arm?
&
How much clearance ya got, with a rotor stuck in between the pads?

I noticed that too.
I have about 0.100” here.
But no clearance here.
There is a plastic spacer still tween the pads that was there when shipped.
My plan was 40mm sleeves, but they became shorter as I was trying to clean up ends.
Ended up at 38.56 mm.

I can add a washer / split washer between the sleeve and the steel tube to add clearance.

My idea was to keep the caliper tight to the tube so the wheel can be centered tween the rails without making the frame rails too wide.
About 12” from the inside of one rail to the the inside of the other is about the minimum space I feel comfortable fitting the rotor and sprocket.

I forgot that the “starter cup” also works as a washer to lock the fan to the flywheel.

I will need to turn a cup into a plate.

I think the positioning looks about right.
I’m hoping I have enough clearance on the vertical axis tween the top of the rotor and the inside of the caliper “groove”.

Take 4 poor measurements, then cut twice.

I guess the axle and the caliper won’t move. I’ll move the jackshaft to tension the chain, then move the engine to tension the belt.

Blasted corner radii! You can't trust anyone these days.

He said: "turn the lever!"
I said: "Which way?"
He said: "yes"

Great, now the pull starter ain’t going to work!
Who needs a pull starter when you possibly have the worlds only Supercharged / Electric Start / Charging / 212cc Hemi Predator with Kohler CH270 flywheel.

Cars got rid of hand cranks once the electric starter was invented.

Denny, cars are the things that came after carriages. Horses eventually got replaced by engines, motors, and batteries.

Cars actually didn’t completely go without cranks until the mid thirties. They were just put into the tool kits and not hanging off the front.

10T 1/2” pitch sprocket
42T 1/2” pitch sprocket
~ 8.5” C2C distance

62 links of chain for sprockets with 9T, 10,T
11T…

11T, 8.518”
10T, 8.624”
9T, 8.730”

So to be able to keep the sprocket / chain system tunable while maintaining the 62 link chain length I’d like a minimum adjustment of 1/4” to vary the C2C distance from 8.5” to 8.75”.

3/8” bolts in pillow blocks with a 3/4” slot could leave 3/8” of adjustment.
Still probably need to slot the pillow block mounting hole in the steel tube ( to allow installation and tightening of chain.

Pulley to Pulley center distance needs to be from 6.25” to 12.1875” for a 7” driven unit to work with one of these listed belts. I’ll investigate pricing / availability of the belts and factor that into the engineering of the engine location.
Also thinking about the front / back center of gravity and space needed if I want to use the bypass valve.
