You have ABSOLUTELY no idea that you're talking about. It's amazing how you even have enough brain cells to be alive, let alone have any motor functions. Your fingers do the talking and the only thing they seem to be doing is smearing BS all over this thread.

You will fail. No doubt about it. And when you do we'll all be laughing while you weep and cry over how wrong you were to begin with.

With that said, you clearly don't know anything about building anything and you couldn't be more wrong if you THINK you're "helping." If anything you're just giving out ideas of how to get killed that much quicker.

Jeeze Mindy....how do you REALLY feel?

"Fits all clones" Problem is... you have a Harbor Freight Predator not a clone.

Say fits all clones.

I thought you said you didn't want to go over about 6000rpm's

the predator IS a clone...
but it's not a TRUE clone;
some parts were interchangeable in the past (older predators accept a honda flywheel for example, new ones do not)
many parts remain interchangeable (IIRC incl. the valve springs)
some parts never were (like the piston obviously...)

so no, it's not a true clone, thus some "clone parts" will not fit as expected.
but it's still a clone and many parts will fit either engine.

i thought the max rpm of the aftermarket camshaft i was looking at would be around 5200. i didnt know sprinsg would raise the RPM.

but ithought Predators WERE clones ?

Sid has it right on with the Clone description.

Removing the governor allows more RPMs, Then the stock valve springs will float at about 5200 to 5500 RPMs. Limiting further RPM.
Therefore adding your stronger springs stop valve float, andwill allow more RPMs.
This is where the billet rod and flywheel become neccesary.

Springs: ..Check.
something to add to the engine portion of the build.

Thinking about buying this spark plug cause it's a real pain getting this engine started.

Bought this fuel pump:

Stupid question. Could this act as a kind of governor. Making rod and flywheel not needed. Sorry if stupid but kinda new to do this stuff the right way.

Totally NOT a stupid question. YES. That is exactly what it does.

This is how most of us run. This is also why so so many people on U Tube are WRONG saying that you NEED billit parts if you remove the governor.

It is my understanding, which is mostly totally wrong:lolgoku:, that the shape of the lobes on some of the low RPM "Torque Cams" causes a need for stiffer springs even at lower RPM.

The NR 230 series Cam (Says NOT FOR PREDATORS, but gives options to purchase it for both new and old predators???) needs 18lb springs to get to 5500 RPM and and can use up to 26lb springs to achieve higher RPM if gearing and tire size will allow it.
http://www.nrracing.com/product-p/200cam-230.htm

230 SERIES Special Cam for classes with lift only rules.
Approx .230 lift with 30 degree more duration than stock. Significant power increase over stock while maintaining factory lift. Cam may have noticeable idle . 18lbs springs and will be limited to 5500 rpm. Can use 26lb springs springs and will be able to achieve higher rpms, however you may experience cam wear.

230 - 0211 Marine, High Torque Cam, marine Applications. Also great for road racing and Mini-Bikes, 5500 rpm, 10 to 1 Compression or lower.

I've read people use valve float as an audio alarm to know when to back off as running like that for an extended time is apparently not good for the valve system

That's what i would do but i don't know what 5200 rpm or 3600 rpm sounds like on this engine yet..

So i got this RPM gauge which may or may not need an electrical source (besides for the light to come on). Sucks i dont have money coming in otherwise i would be doing some electrical stuff with switches, lights, and wiring to a battery.
anyways,

Looks way different than the picture advertised it. Still not bad.

I don't know what valve float sounds like either. I guess i was just assuming i would know it when i hear it. The highest rpm I had my engine was 4800 on jackstands. I haven't pushed it any further yet.

LOL I hate the way mine sounds. I've been running with no muffler and it sounds like farts.
Can't wait to hear it with the cam

Again exactly correct:thumbsup:
To me it just sounds like the revs stop climbing acceleration stops. Like you really really need to shift. So I let off feather it a little and keep on. I only see this when I take my kart on the street, to go to the store. basic yard karting not an issue
