Been pretty busy with work and the predator 212 build lately, but I did sneak in some time for the drag bike.

I figured out how far the forks needed extended and made up inner sleeve tubes that will be rosette welded in. (Yes those are solid aluminum blocks the bike is sitting on) I went with a thicker wall tubing for the extension tubes and I think they will be fine, even though I'd prefer one continuous piece of tube this will have to do for now.

Figured out a better peg location, and seat location that work better for me so that's exciting, I just have to put the plan into action.

Need to get a little more time opened up and get buckled down on this thing! December is coming up quick.

Haven't had a chance to do anything further to the build, but next week is looking pretty good for shop time! Mostly have been working on my girlfriend's mini bike build, and trying to get that going.

Stay tuned, I am still working on the bike!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Got more done to the mini bike, and I think it's much better now.

I added the rear hoop bracing in to form a triangular shape, that supports the hoop much better, and I got the seat location locked in finally as well. I had to widen the seat hoop a little bit to fit it in, but it's in the right spot now. I'll be adding a brace to the seat hoop to eliminate flex as well.

Next l will work on the forks and then I will see how it works out, then the engine will get pulled so I can fully weld all the joints. Then it's on to foot controls, and brakes!

Great job on the build so far. Those Warrior 350s can handle some abuse. My dad used to ride his pretty hard around croom with his friends. And from what I've read these engines have about 22hp. Just make sure that the carb is properly tuned and that bike will be a blast.

Thanks! The 350 engines are pretty beefy, I ported the head pretty good, and added a stage 1 cam so I'm hoping I picked up a little bit more power. Either way having a transmission will definitely help keep the engine in it's power band compared to a conventional style mini bike.

Progress is slow, and now that I got sick it's a bit slower, but I'm still hoping to get it going soon!

So the final time crunch for the build off is on!
Lots of parts are on order, and I'm going to get this thing running/driving/stopping! Might not be all pretty, but it will be functional.

Got the seat board cut out, and I plan to seal the wood and upholster it.

I will be keeping it simple with only a rear brake for now, due to foot controls causing me great annoyance and displeasure.

I'll need to get my exhaust finished, electrical buttoned up and gas tank mounted but I still think getting it going before the 31st is totally possible!

Also going to use a foot shifter for now until the air shifter electronics get built.

Should be exciting, and fun!

Progress update! I am pretty close to testing the bike! Gas tank mounting, seat, exhaust, and a few odds and ends and the bike will squeak by for the build off rules of being "complete" and it will be safe. But it won't be totally finished cosmetically. However, I need to test it out before I make it look pretty anyway.

I bent up a simple "dashboard" for the ignition switch, and it will house the neutral and reverse lights. Tethered kill switch is mounted (needs wired in), I installed a chain tensioner and I'm working out a few bugs with it, but it seems to be working well.

The hand brake lever works the rear brake, and it will provide plenty of braking power for testing.

The seat is going to be super cool. I picked up some alligator print vinyl to cover the seat with, and I'm using some high density seat cushions for the seat foam. Hopefully it turns out nice.

I am definitely going to film the first test ride, it should be fun!

More progress! Soldered up some LEDs for the neutral light (green), and reverse indicator light (red) and of course I had to troubleshoot the reverse light wiring. But the LEDs are installed into the "dash" and everything functions just like the quad did. Next up is the tethered kill switch wiring and a ground, then it's on to seat work, gas tank mounting and exhaust!

Got the exhaust built, I understand that smooth bends are ideal, but I kinda like the sharp angles, and I doubt it will hinder flow at all. Just need to weld up a mount for it next.

Slowly, but surely....

I would almost just disable reverse on something that has 2 wheels and is that short and light. Just not install the lever at the engine. I had a warrior 350 and they are fast in reverse. Lol

Got the seat made up, with ultra sweet gator print vinyl. Welded up seat mounts, and I also mounted the gas tank (didn't get a pic of the gas tank mounts tonight).

I used a seat cushion for hunting (Walmart) for the high density seat foam, it works well and it's pretty cheap.

Just a few additional checks, and a few tweaks and I'm going to test ride it! (Provided the snow stays away). As of now, it will move under it's own power and stop.

I'll have a YouTube update before the test ride, and I will definitely get lots of pics and video footage of the first ride.

Stay tuned!

Latest update video! https://youtu.be/2CnIxdcJWcM

The bike currently meets the build-off requirements! I test rode it today, and I'm editing the video tonight for YouTube, and I will post pics tomorrow as well!

It might not be super pretty, but a lot of work went into it, and it needs a little more. But it's been fun, and at least I have it documented and I've been able to share the project with all of you!

And the test ride video!!!!!! https://youtu.be/N78rcebPIkQ

(It's not death defying, by any means but it will go and stop safely under it's own power) Thus I am calling it "complete" and needing a few tweaks, wheelie bars eventually, and cosmetic upgrades.

More pictures to follow!!!
