I skipped a step :)

Here are the pictures from the brake master mount. Had to put it near the pedal but still close enough for the brake line to reach the discs.

Needed to stick out a little. and i had to move up due to mounts on it.

I could of changed the mount locations but it is aluminum and i don't have anything weld on that.

I think its in a good location under the seat so it doesn't look too bad sticking out the way it does. And if my pedal messes up i can reach down and pull brakes on master cylinder :)

Took some scrap metal and (messed up a little) shaped it to fit what i needed. Motorcycle brakes are not really designed to mount for go kart use :) I angled it a little. should sit level when kart is on ground as tires in back are bigger.

what do you guys think about me adding some side rails on my cart? Thinking extra chassis strength and side safety too?

see frame as clean as an image I have of it and what maybe would look like with added frame.

And should I put roll cage? or maybe bolt on roll cage mounts at least?

I don't plan on getting crazy on this. but safety first right ;) :cheers2:

Side rails are a good addition.

Yup! I'd add a roll bar

from the pic you it looks like you should add

...a motor

...and a rear end

...and maybe a cup holder too. :2guns:

You better step it up

Your runnin' outta time. :cheers2:

I got all that installed or planned. This was older frame only picture. easier to show what i wanted to add.

Cup holder? Why? when i have a perfectly good Beer holder instead. :cheers2:

okay so moving forward with this build.

Per my drawing and a couple yeses. Worked last night a couple hours and drew up and cut out some pieces for a side rail. Not welded all the way only spot welded to see if it looks good.

so i got one side done.

Also started to work on the brake cable mounts. not liking what i started i think i will scrap the "Wire Nut, small metal tube design" ;)

With the side rails i think i can mount some small brackets near master cylinder and foot pedal for brakes.

Its alive!

Time to test.

Brakes...cable was loose almost didnt stop! Maybe linkage would beer better than cable. Stopping power not great. Free brake system... Fix when i have money to spend. Need to save for xmas now.

Gas....was sticking. Lucky i wired kill switch. Need to get return spring. Put small one in. Need larger one.

Steering...super sensitive. Turns to easy. Could use some adjustments. Maybe shock dampners?

Speed.... Well. Baby steps. Fix small things that can kill me first. Then speed testing.

Otherwise not a bad first run. Oh and left front wheel bolt loose after drive.... Maybe cotter pins could help.

I'll try and get some more pictures and then some video.

Will still need to take all apart and paint.... Ugh... Finishing touches.

Some real tires on the Front may help with the steering. A 15x6x6 Like the rear, will change the Rake of the kart ever so slightly... changing the Caster.

Congrats though! Nice deal. Good Job. Not bad at all from "junk" 2  and 1:bannana:
