Is that a good thing to do to a Piston?
Take a belt sander to it?

My machinist told me too. It's alot better than clamping down on the outside of it. I let it cool between hits so it didn't distort anything.

It went and got to speed QUICK. but it flatlined at 5750 rpm every time. So got to figure that one out.

I got a lot of videos but I got to upload them and make a final video on YouTube anyways. But I want to wait til the track passes Friday and Saturday.

Enjoy a pic with barstool and mini me in one pic..........

Joe, is the drive belt still too short? I've had that happen to me with a snowmobile before. :furious2:

So I made a tc cover for the gopowersports tav 40 series kit............

And now she's ready for the track. I hope the speed isn't limited. But it sure acts like it kind of. But I'm gonna do some serious tc tuning tomorrow at the track if it doesn't rain.

Well I have a bracket racer............ 59mph at around the 400' mark. And straight flattens out.

But.............

60' 2.26
1/8 e.t. 10.40
And 59mph everytime.

What kind of revs did you end up getting out of it?

Consistent 5750 everytime. I think the cylinder head needs more airflow with bigger valves. Or I hope the flywheel and more timing maybe. I played with the carb but everything i did made it slower. So I guess first guess on jetting was spot on. Haha. Go figure !

Might be topped out on the converter also but it doesn't act like it.

My buddy told me to balance the rotating assembly. Even tho I can't feel it it could still limit it like that also.

First pass I ran it out the 1/4 and it was 59mph also ! So it's got a speed limiter just gotta figure it out.

Do you think it's the torque converter holding it back? I don't think it's flow because even a crappy l head engine with poor flow will rev higher than that with no porting. The OHV flows much better. Then there's compression ratio, fuel, timing.

Also, I can't verify this with my own experience but I was told that you gotta gear for more torque so the engine can break through the torque converters resistance at higher rpms...

It just seems weird to me that the torque converter is almost never used in drag races. It's always the disc style clutches that are used.

Where is your timing now?

Stock flywheel with 6* key. The new flywheel might cure the issue it will be here today. Everybody says it needs 36* so I'm hoping.

I have a few sprockets to change. I want to get the flywheel on first tho.

And the whole tc issue with drag racing.......... I'm beginning to wonder !!!!
