Crank is being turned down to 3/4 be done tomorrow. 3d manual clutch is in route.

Ordering tires, wheels, front fork assembly.

Building a brand new chassis from scratch.

So true diy fashion now ! Time to get the chop cut weld on.

I want to put that 3d manual clutch on my kart, but I don't want to spend the $170 for it to break :-/

Well I spent $270 for it to break so that's not bad.

And I gotta figure out somebody to do my chassis. Don't think my regular guy can do it. He can only bend mild steel 1.25" and that's way over kill and to heavy. And bullfrog motosport won't call or message me back on shipping or a final price on his bare chassis. His chassis is the only one I can find with a jr. dragster rear tire.

I finally bought all three conduit benders for 1/2" 3/4", and 1". I think the 1" at 6.60 for 10ft is pretty good for go kart/ mini bike frame material. 1" is way harder to bend than 3/4". If ya know an electrician it might be a solution for ya. I think 3/4" would do it or a mix of the two.

I purchased 20' of 1" tube .065 thick to practice welding on, bends really easy but I think it's way to thin for a kart frame.

Don't know if I would trust it as my frame rail , but definitely can be used for secondary support an exhaust systems. Turn your welder down it's easy to blow holes in.

What thickness would you recommend for a kart frame or drift trike?

I'm using 1.25" .083 chrome moly I think on my new one. Or regular mild steel. Mild is almost half of the other cost.

Well on with fixing the engine stuff until I figure the chassis thing out.

Got some more work done on the ole piston to be safe. As soon as the crank gets back I can send it off to be balanced. Then reassemble the short block finally. Also got my sweet adjustable coil bracket today finally. And the front wheel and tire setup is ordered and on the way along with the manual clutch.

So enjoy a few pics....................

I'm guessing your local machinist was going to do the balancing?

Howard's Outdoor Power Equipment told me $150 to balance the rotating assembly.

Heck that's a bit much.

I change my mind more than Joe, and definitely more than I change my underwear. LOL

I TRY to do it in the planning stages before I buy.
Lots of time trying to get it right the first time.

It is kinda like measure twice, cut once...

But more like measure twice, plan a couple dozen times, spend as little as possible.

In reality (I don't know much about REALITY), it is probably more like a crazy person repetitively drawing the same circle in a notebook.

This is my notebook.
Sorry
:cheers2:
