Going Back a few Posts.
You may recall I had to redo the front end because My angles were off.
Also I got way ahead of myself and welded too much before "tacking" Everything in place.

Well I ended up with a TWIST in the Main Frame.
and with my Front Geometry design and such a small Rigid Frame this was NO Good.
I worked it all out and the entire frame is level Corner to corner.

What are y'alls tips for Proceeding in welding the Frame parts that are just tacked with out having things move and twist.

A. Clamp the frame Down to a flat Surface???
B. (square tube) Weld one side of the tube and let cool before proceeding.
C.????

BTW I am not doing anything till I get a few pointers! Thanks

Eric, looking good, I do have a concern about using all thread as tie rod material, those threaded tie rods have reliefs in them all the way across their span making them weak and prone to failure, tubing with threaded ends are much stronger and safer, just my opinion.

Depending on my budget, I may spring for something better, in a few months. These will get the job done at least for mock up and testing.
These are only or 5 or 6 inches long though.

Yeah...if you ever did want to beef them up...you could just take a short piece with you to HD...or grab a bolt the same size and take it to the assorted steel section and get a piece of tubing that slides over...(you'll find it fits quite nicely) ...and cut sections about 3/4" on each side shorter and either weld or add another nut on each rnd and make them bulletproof for a couple of bucks....

But, short as they are, I would think that's unnecessary!

I have a plan to sleeve them anyway, But that is more Decorative.
Yes. They are Short. and what I replaced was not tube either Just 5/16 Chrome rod with threaded ends.
To get them Better Quality, I have to special order. and or buy new Rod ends and step up to 3/8"

Well I got the Base Frame all Welded and it is still Flat and Square:wai:
I know big deal right! But for me it is.
Patience and Humility.
Gonna go play around and see what is next.

This thing is going to be cool. Are you using an actual beer crate, making your own, or is that what the copper is for?

Thanks.
If I could find an Old Wooden Beer Crate I would. But we just don't use them in the States. So Yep Something "Artistic" with the Copper! I do not Drink anyways.

Well I got this thing Put together and It is a Roller.:wai:
The Frame Jacking works Extraordinary on this short Rigid Frame.
Thanks to Desertduler for Splaining that in his Threads and Helping me duplicate it here:thumbsup:

So I looked online For an Old American Beer Krate. $129.00 and UP. Apparently they are "Vintage" oooh!
So next I will start looking into building my Krate.
It will require some thought and planning and measuring.
because at the same time I have to locate the engine to fit Correctly operational wise and Astheticsally within the Krate.
Again this is one of those issues where The Bierkistes in Germany use a small Motorbike engine and I will be using an industrial engine. So there are no plans, and in this case only a couple of pictures.
Imagine trying to pull start your Predator while it is still in the Box.

Thanks for checking in. No pics today. Just me and my thoughts.

Hey Eric,

I have some vintage connections. (numerous) what's the crate look like? Perhaps I can find you an actual one. 2nd? What's the measurements of your tie rods? If I have them, I'll donate something to ya. Meaning, racing kart tie rods if I have something that's right.

Well they just look like and wooden box. 14"x 16" approx and 12"to 14" tall. But Honestly I am not that interested, I do not drink, and shipping would be crazy just due to size.

The tie rods are 7" total length including the current ends. I cut the Rod to 5 1/2". Those are a favor I would appreciate.
Thanks

Been pretty slow this week but I did get a couple things done tonight.
I cut out my engine mount plate 3/16 steel. Sill need to slot it.
and tacked in two 1" tubes to support it.
Now I can figure exact engine location and start on the Krate.

Well I figure If I am going to degregate the "Beer Style" of These. I will just go artistic instead of Coke. or (Yuck PEPSI).
The worst thing ever to Slap the German style of these Beer Krate Racers would be to put a COORS or Miller logo on it.
Even I am not that big of an A hole!

I have some Ideas. May even work on some today!
