There is surprisingly little choice in aftermarket go-karts adjustable pedals... So I build mine out of carbon fiber. Back and front stopper incorporated in design (if you have flat base for it to act against). But even at 3/16 it's still a bit too flexibly twist-wise for my liking, so I'm going to redo in 1/4 aluminum. Only I'll use the go-kart round pedal grips + bolts for "pedal" part, so it can be adjusted height wise.

....Time to ring it out!!!!

Un-governed, Hemi Predator 212. Found what seems to be a legit problem in the carb, so hoping fixing that will fix my hi speed sputter, and then "I" will put the Alumaflyer to the test!!!

.....dangit I wish I had a Go-Pro.... :)

Somehow I knew that you were going to throw a bigger engine on the Alumaflyer!
Can you borrow a Go Pro from somebody? If we lived closer to one another I would loan you mine!
I wonder how a old 820 West Bend two stroke or a new US820 from U.S. Motor Power would work on your kart.

Alright guys. Here are a few videos from todays shakedown at Desert Park Raceway. I really cool kart track. It has everything. Long Straights, decreasing radius corners, elevation changes, long sweeping full throttle corners. It was great the kart did amazingly well. As I said in one of my video descriptions, it never once understeered, the braking was effective and straight and true, and was very predictable and controllable in a slight drift if the corner required it. I was about 8-10 seconds off the blueprinted clones with their sticky tires and modern chassis....I dont think thats too awful bad for something designed and built from scratch, on narrow tires and with a bone stock 212 Harbor Freight motor sans the governor. I am a happy boy!!!!! Might be time to build more :)

Nice. YEP. Not too bad for a a stock predator and a made from scratch Kart on skinny tires.

Well I said I would post up as well, a parts list for my Alumaflyer. So here it is, best as I can remember.

Chassis & Engine Swing Mount is from .090" and .125" Aluminum. It took about 24-30 sqft of .090" and about 10 sqft of .125" The brake pedal and accelerator were from .25" Aluminum.

Front axle consists of 1"x.083" steel tubing and 1"x1"x1.8" steel angle.

Asuza Engineering Parts.
Left & Right Front Spindle and Spindle bracket assemblies 5/8"x3 1/2" (Steering arms modified)
Left and Right Tie Rods
Steering shaft, steering wheel and steering wheel hub. (Steering arm custom length)
Front Wheels - Asuzalite 5"x3" with 5/8" bearings
Rear Wheels - Asuzalite 5"x4" for 1" standard step axles
1"x36" Standard step axle
4) 1" axle bearings with 3 hole flangettes
Vari-Hub Sprocket hub
72T Sprocket and 53T Sprocket
6" Drum brake
ChenShin 5" Slicks 2 1/2" Front 3 1/2" Rear

Harbor Freight Predator Engines
79cc with Governor in tact
212cc with Governor removed. Vintage round fuel tank with custom aluminum mount.
Racing Air Filter and custom aluminum exhaust header.

79cc used an 11T centrifugal clutch
212cc used a 12T centrifugal clutch

Seat cover, striping and decals were all done by myself.

Button head-allen socket bolts with nylon locking nuts were used throughout. 10-32, 1/4-20, 5/16-18

That is one very nice looking Kart. You are quite a talented builder to design and build from scratch this all aluminum mono chassis Kart. You get major points for styling and design. This is as complex as it gets and yet so simple you are able to finish it out with so many off the shelf Azuza bolt ons, and a mildly tuned stock Predator Very clever. This design is so neat; being totally unique and yet nearly as easily adaptable to normal aftermarket modifications as any of our typical Karts.
A job well done I applaude your work.

Wow! I just read this whole build log, very impressive...

I have to wonder how the aluminum frame feels around the track compared to a CroMo frame. Does it feel harsh or soft? I know my aluminum road bicycle can be jarring over bumps that my CroMoly frame dampens a bit better.

Thanks for sharing your expertise and taking us along for the ride.
